While some achievement rewards are account bound (dyes) others aren't (titles). While I understand some players out there may want to accomplish achievements on different characters and 'replay' the game, unlocking the rewards like titles really isn't necessary for that sense of accomplishment. It's entirely unrealistic in some situations as well like any achievement related to crafting for players to complete some of them on multiple characters. Please consider making all achievement rewards account bound while leaving the completion of those achievements specific to that character.

This logic doesn't work for me.

Achievements are a criteria for certain drops for a character when doing writs. That means those achievements SHOULD be character based.

So what is the point in making the crafting achievements account-wide? What are you trying to get out of that. I don't get the 'unrealistic' point as there is no need for every character to get every achievement.

As far as titles go, of course only the master crafter character should bear whatever related title there is. Why should a character that never cleared certain content be able to claim they have? The titles are gained by the character.

I am more sympathetic to complaints about grinding for progress on every alt, especially when you just want to try various builds. But crafting titles definitely should be limited to the character with the crafting skills.

The actual effect of that appears to be negligible.

It increases the drop rates of master writs (for alchemy, enchanting and jewelry, which are the three that are achievement "increased") by almost a factor of 2.

    Definitely not negligible.

Achivements generally should be account wide and everything connected with them rewards etc. Main purpose of achivements always should be rewarding player not character...

The main rewards of the achievements (dyes and titles) are split. One is account-wide and one isn't. I'm ok with that. I figure titles could be account wide as well, as long as achievements aren't.

To me, the main purpose of achievements is to tell me what a character has completed and what they haven't, so I am fine with an achievement overview in Character select that aggregates everything you have done across the account, but I want to keep the characters' achievements clearly visible.

I'm in Craglorn, some guild is looking for few more dps to fill their vet trial run. They ask me to link clear, RIP i dont have clear with this toon but I do with 10 others. Sorry dude f off.
    Achievements should be account wide.

Please explain this. I don't know what this is talking about. What is ' link clear ' ?

    :#

When you complete content, you get an achievement, and you can link achievements in chat. So for a lot of the vet content, when you PUG, you ask the person you are inviting to link the achievement that shows they've completed the content at least once.

and this determines if they kick you out of the PUG ?

    seems kinda mean

    IMHO

    :#

Not so much kick you out, but don't invite you, if that is the criteria they set. So if you are forming a group in zone chat for a vet DLC dungeon or a vet Trial, you can ask the people to link the achievement to show they've at least completed it once before they invite you to the group.

This game has, without a doubt, the most abusive grind for alts of any MMO I've ever played. It is disheartening how little effort ZOS puts into anything that can't be put on the cash shop. This would be a trivial thing they could do though.

Alts can use 810 cps at level one, and hit level fifty in a few hours if you so choose. That's the most abusive grind? Really?

ESO is actually one of the most alt-friendly MMOs - but only if you want to play the alts rather than take them straight from the character creation screen into endgame content. I'm glad that's the way that ZOS have designed it.

I think some people might have missed that the OP only suggested achievement rewards (specifically titles) should be unlocked account-wide, like other rewards (dyes, collectables, etc.) already are. There was no suggestion that the achievements themselves would be account wide so they could still be used to track what each character has done.

If you make one character a vampire and unlock Noxophilic Black dye all your characters can use it on their clothes, but the achievement menu doesn't say they've all become vampires, only that one. Same idea with titles.

The only - ONLY - way I would even vaguely consider this as an option is if it was voluntary and you could toggle it on or off.

And still not that enamoured of the idea.

I have things I have only done on my main character - I have not done them on other characters, so why should I have the rewards or title?

Then what would be the point of any alts if they all just got all the achievements etc as soon as created? Takes all the fun out of playing them.

Actually, I would agree to this ONLY if you had to pay for your account wide achievements etc in the crown store. And they made them expensive 😈

Otherwise just play the damn game.

I'm curious: does that mean you keep track of which dyes each character has unlocked and make sure to only use those colours on their outfits and costumes? After all those are achievement rewards too, but they're unlocked account-wide.

Someone would say "NOT" about that, but me with two hands for it.

Someone will say that it is wrong, for example, to have the title of Grand Master Crafter on a character that does not have it. - Does it bother you? If a person was able to pass any content, this already means that he was able to do IT, and this should be applicable to the account.

I have 13 characters, and I can't play my main for days and weeks, monthes, years, I get tired of it and move to another class where I have fun and interesting. In addition, many raids require trials on different classes. "Do you know where this leads to me personally?"
-Gryphon heart on a necromancer tank, immortal redemeer on a mag dk, a tick-toc-tormentor on a stam nightblade, and 4 drom'ahtra destroer on a mag nb, tank warden, stam nb, stam dk. And the former emperor at the stam dk.

I CAN'T PLAY ON THE SAME CLASS FOREVER, IT'S BORING! AND TO GET THIS UNHAPPY PAINT, I MUST WAIT YEARS AND MONTHES WHEN I KILL ALL MOBS / CLOSE SOME PART THE NEEDED ACHIEVEMENT TO GET THE PAINT I WANT! I CAN'T WAIT YEARS FOR GETTING GRAND OVERLORD BECAUSE 12 of MY 13 CHARACTERS have PVP RANKS EVERYWHERE 30/50

And if that doesn't suit you ... then you just don't want to consider anything new, that's all. You are attached to one thing and you are not interested in anything else because you are holding on to your main because of achievements, and this is a fact.

I dont live there (in game), it's just my very favorite game at free time after job

One of the solutions to this problem is to give achievements to the account, but at the same time sign in the line below which character your character received this

    You know what, Yes! Absolutely!

And I'm not someone who has been for this in the past. I have been vehemently against account wide achievements and titles. I am someone who cares about individual character progression. Most of all during the Holiday events. Boredom of the same event year after year was alleviated by chasing the main achievement title on a new alt.

    So every Magnanimous celebrant...

Every Lord and Lady of Misrule...

Every Star-Made Knight who killed fiddy men...

But now ZOS has shown me the errors of my ways. Eights, I have seeen the Light! If there is no way to make a new Sun Dusk Reaper without spending a minimum of 28 tickets, then what am I clutching to my precious individualism for? Hurl my character based progression into the fires of Mount Doom!

    Embrace account wide achievements!

    Yay to account wide titles!

Account wide motifs too while we're at it...

Recipes, furniture plans, research, skill points... All of it! Put race and class options into collections. Unlock unique names, eliminate alts, and replace them with preset loadouts... Oh Lord, someone get in here and talk me down.
