Gear Recommendations For First Character

Hello everyone,

I just got my first character to CP 200. All I've ready done is the main questline, daily dungeons and undaunted pledges (currently at undaunted level 8). Now that I'm past CP 160, I'd like to start acquiring gear for a build. I'm looking to get into PVP but I don't want a pet build. I'm just hoping I haven't shot myself in the foot though because I've failed to level most of my crafting skills as I've been playing...

Anyways, I've got a Breton Magsorc and I'm thinking about working towards 5 pieces of the False Gods Devotion Set and having the rest be pieces from the Spell Strategist set? I'm interested in that False God set because I think it'd be cool to have the mag cost reduction from both the set and the Breton Passives. It'd also give me a reason to want to stick with Breton and not switch to high elf lol.

Would these be decent for some PVP action? If not, what would you recommend? Also, I see that the Perfected version of False Gods has some additional spell damage. Would it be worth it to try and find a group that is running that veteran trial? I've haven't even though about doing trails yet, but I'd definitely be down to try.

Forget trial sets, they are for pve. You wanna run 2 proc sets like Caluurion's Legacy for example and Zaan or Maw. Then all you need to do is stun the enemy, throw some aoe on them and let proc sets finish them.

Most emphatically not.

Some combination of the following:

Bright-Throat's Boast (if using a suitable drink)
Spinner's (front bar only)
Crafty Alfiq
Amber Plasm
Armor Master (back bar only)
Shacklebreaker
Ancient Grace
Possibly Master's Flame staff (front bar)
Willpower or Blessing of Potentates back bar in some builds
Bloodspawn or Engine Guardian or some plain stat pieces, such as 1x Swarm Mother + 1x Domihaus

Flame staff front bar, resto staff or 1H + Shield back bar

You want to build for high magicka, so your shields start doing their job. 45K in CP or higher.

While some people do wear Caluurion and Zaan / Maw on sorc, you should IMO aim for high magicka, getting your shields to the point where they are useful.
