Hireling Emails

Is it just me or have others been receiving the same email every day for certain hireling resources? I have received the same email from Urbek (Blacksmithing) and Velothril Sisters (Enchanting) every day for over two weeks and Im missing the little stories that evolve from this.

I know its a little silly but I kinda miss the progression!

Anyone else? Ive already lodged a ticket but its still happening

This is not a part of the game you should bother with. I don't even read these mails and yes it is boring, also most of that staff is usless anyway. I don't remember the last time I received a legendary resource with mail. You might as well regain some skill points by getting rid of it completely.

^ dude doesn't like hirlings or free mats it seems.

You can't tell someone what to bother with or not, each to their own. If OP has bothered to post clearly it bugs them.

There's only a limited number of these Hirelings' messages. The messages are changed - but not frequently. I quite enjoy reading them.

With rank 2/3 in Hireling on all my alts I regularly get gold tempers. In the last week I'd guess around 6 gold tempers and loads of materials - very useful.

Once you get "to the end" of them, then you just get the same thing every day after that. I quite liked them as well, when I was getting new updates every time. I think you get about 100 mails from each and there are 3 different hirelings per craft but after that 300 days (technically between 150-300 depending on if you get 1 or 2 a day, based on passive), no more new stories. :(

I know they added more a while ago to mix things up a bit but I think most players(at least the ones I've talked to about it) don't pay attention to them and just take the goodies & delete

Why don't they just loop them back to the beginning? It would be a repeat but less boring than the exact same every day.

Good question, they are however often an story with an end.

Here is an list of all of them.

I have actually gotten quite a decent stash of materials from these and I have enjoyed the little stories that have come with them. I don't think they have been a waste of my skill points but can understand that if you aren't into crafting then this would be for some.

Its a shame that there is only a limited amount of stories and hopefully they do come out with more in the future. Thanks all that replied anyway :)

Bruh, you clearly didn't see the one mail where the provisioning dude tried molasses. He was a bit leery at first, but surprisingly enjoyed it, and as such has decided he will try other parts of the mole in the future.

    Shouldn't assume things.

My hirelings tend to bring gold mats at least 3 times a week. The gremlins of rng don't like you, apparently.

Too bad you don't bother with the hireling mails. Some are rather fun.
Today Pacrooti heard a voice say "Khajiit! I need your help!" He turned around and saw a toad. The toad said "I've been cursed by an evil mage. The curse will be broken if you kiss me. I will turn back into a beautiful maiden." Pacrooti put the toad in his pocket. He can get a lot of gold for a talking frog.

This one has had it with the high and haughty Elves who travel these roads. They act as if great Lorkhaj created the entire Mundus just for them. Pacrooti got so angry with one caravan, he dropped his pants and showed them his backside. Pacrooti's people call this, "Giving them the Jone and Jode."

This one bought a horse that answers to commands. To make it stop, you shout "Sweet roll!" To make it go, you shout "Thank the Divines!" Pacrooti was riding and dozed off. When he awoke, the horse was racing towards a cliff. Pacrooti shouted "Sweet roll!" and it stopped just in time. "Whew," Pacrooti said, "Thank the Divines!" Pacrooti had horsemeat for dinner.

    I totally agree, I think they're cool.

One had a nice little rewarding moment for me, there's a side quest in Southern Elsweyr that makes reference to the final Clothing hireling. Being someone who read the hireling's letters, I recognised the reference :)

I too was distressed when they went into reruns.

I recall when Pacrooti was removed as a hireling and many folks were upset.

More upsetting perhaps was his return....as a true Khajiit :p;)

https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Take_Your_Lumps - You have to speak to the Alfiq during the quest iirc - If you look at Janessa's UESP page (link is on the quest's page) they list her dialogue, including the reference I mentioned

I agree, I'd prefer the hireling system was removed, and you get as part of your daily login 1 mat bundle based on how many characters you have at level 50 crafting.

Then you can purchase Hirelings to go do surveys for you.

Removing mail clutter, new house guest that accepts surveys, send away, 20 hour later they now have an inventory (like banker) of mats.

I absolutely loved every hireling email. I got all of them on my "first main". And most of them on the other accounts. They generally gave me such a chuckle - it was like "letters from home" for me. Of course, one eventually refunds the points in Hirelings (especially when one has tens of thousands of mats....)

But I actually truly miss those missives.

At least they've twice added a new round of 500 letters (5 crafts, 100 letters per hireling.)

That said, the third time around had some botches. Notably, the clothier and enchanter mail told stories that were never completed -- unless the Southern Elsweyr quest mentioned above finally took care of the clothier one.

By now there are multiple ties between the emails and the actual game. I don't think they've been that successful, on average; Narsis Dren in particular is annoying, and if we have to have him I'd at least like to see Valinka Stoneheaver as well. That said, Melina Cassel was my favorite hireling ever, and I haven't played through Skyrim to see her there.

I personnaly would like to see hireling as possible house guest

Also i really want to know the end of the enchanter hireling story
