Will I get ban for plain afk? No farming done.

I heard you can get banned from the game for using another program to farm xp while afk. I want to know whether I am at risk of being banned if I just do nothing at all, that is, no xp farming or anything. I just leave the game running while I go do something else. Which means my character is standing still in random places and not moving or interacting with anything.
I could leave it that way for 10-15 minutes and check in once in between to check of the day/night cycle etc. Is that bannable?

You will be logged off after some time as in 10 minutes something.

Now if you clamp down the mouse button on pad so you HA the air I believe you fool the inactivity timer and can not see how this can have any danger.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

In the 2 scenarios you present [1] is botting (bannable), [2] is simply afk with occasional manual interaction (not bannable). My question is why would you want to do [2]? What is the point? ESO is a persistent world, the day/night cycle will go on whether you are logged in or not.

If you want to catch specific in-game time (like for bitey NPC spawn), you could use https://esoclock.uesp.net/

I do this in Cyro if I have to pop to the store ( 15-20ish mins there and back ) and haven't had a problem, reason I do this as to not get kicked and have to wait an hour in the queue
