disgusting low scry lead drop chance overall

Some the lead are harder to get than zen inferno staff or hollowfang lightning staff
Everything take forever to get except void crystal
Example: font of auriel, lunar phase stained glass

Nah, just crummy RNG. I have 3 of the lunar phase windows and it only took about 40 dragons.

I'm never lucky in farming, the more I deliberately farm something, the seldom I'll actually get it. Plus, I really hate farming and don't enjoy repeating content over and over in a stretch.

So far with Greymoor, I'd rather just do the content that drops leads on characters that haven't done them for skill points or shards hoping I'd get lucky and it worked pretty well. Throughout the Greymoor event, I ended up with all of the multi-part leads and some furnishings leveling my characters, doing pledges and collecting skill points instead of wasting my time farming specifically. I seem to get lucky when I'm not expecting to get them. The remainder that had to be farmed like fishing, I did it one time while semi afk watching tv. Some the other leads that are out of the way and serve merely cosmetic/furnishing purpose, I haven't bothered at all yet.

It's not really that hard to get them. I've been doing them for about a month now and only have about half a dozen left. I finally unlocked the last difficulty two days ago, and I got about 12 of those yesterday. I would not describe a dozen of the hardest difficulty gold leads dropping in a day as disgustingly low drop rate. To level up a couple days ago I resorted to farming about 10 void crystals in a couple hours.

Keep in mind, it's RNG, so don't expect consistency. I've gotten plenty of leads from the first thing I killed/looted, and I've also spent an hour or more killing stuff only to give up and move on to the next one on the list.

If the item you dig up isn't worth an hour of your time, don't farm for leads.

I farmed one Mythic Item and the wolf. As far as i can say the droprate seems reasonable. Had the mythic in one and a half hour and the wolf in two days.

Leads of every category were dropping like Autumn leaves when the chapter was first released.
    Now... not so much.

They definitely adjusted the drop rate after a few weeks.

I had so many leads on my accounts (which didn't have Greymoor until just before the event), all of which expired over time of course. And now I'm finding them hard to come by - not talking about the farmed ones, as I don't do the group content where they drop - early on, they dropped from almost every node I touched, every chest etc.

Drop rate is really stingy now.

Found that group dungeons has an good chance of dropping, world bosses an decent one as in 3-6 times.
Delve bosses on the other hand can easy take hours trying to get the lead.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

... it took me 75 dragons for the second lead. I still haven't gotten a thrid.

THIS is why RNG sucks. Nice that it worked for you, but I'm pretty tired of running a few dragons every day. Not making a cathedral filled with those windows now. D:

Define "good" - because 5 nDoM without a chandelier lead is a LOT, considering that the normal version is challenging for many players. Same for trials - it's annoying to finally get in a Craglorn run, then not get a lead.

I think it took around 15-25 runs of the dungeons for the Wolf leads, and I'm still working on the 3rd lead drop from Blackheart Haven And Direfrost, simply because I need a group for those dungeons.

Yep, If you did not get the drops during the first month, it maybe a long grind to get them now. I noticed this as i was getting my 2rd character maxed out in the Antiquates skill line big Nerf to the drop rate.

Some are meant to be rare (hence being golds/oranges), but they’re not difficult to obtain by any stretch.

The group dungeon leads drop on normal. World bosses can be farmed solo. Delve leads are jus a matter of waiting. “All loot tables” leads can be gathered just by farming materials. Cyrodiil leads are probably the “hardest” due to it being a lagfest.

Sounds like you just have an issue with it not being instant gratification.

      rng is bloody weird.

farming for IC ring lead with SO (you know the lead, I'm sure) drops for me off a first boss kill. thinking, cool cool cool, this will take no time at all. run around IC for almost 2 hours, killing bosses, pvp ending up with like 15k more tel var in a bank without really trying for it (every time we'd get killed, we would just deposit leftovers and go back to farming) no lead for him

give up for the day, come back next day for more farming. and bear in mind by that point I scried all the leads on my account and got the ring. you may be guessing what happened next. I got ANOTHER lead (though this time off a third boss kill) he? still doesn't have it. and he stayed back and soloed for a while, while I logged out for the day.

meanwhile - I'm into furnishings, and yet furnishing leads other then that one lead in coldharbour - refuse to drop for me no matter how long I farm. meanwhile, he randomly gets all sorts of cool furnishing leads including the ones I would be farming for hours and never seeing (like the stained glass window or an awesome drum) without even trying. the one lead he actualy wants? refuses to drop. go figure.

      rng is just... weird.

100% agree with you. RNG sucks... on everything. I'm not crying that getting stuff is too hard. I just don't like the unpredictability. Whether it's good or bad. If I knew the drop rate, I could plan my game time around stuff that has a fixed poor drop percentage. I would at least be able to make an informed choice, based on the relative value I place on the item, to grind or not to grind.

Nothing more irritating than picking up a purple lead in the first ten minutes, deciding you want a pair in your house... and taking a week to find the second one. RNG is Murphy's ugly step-child.

It's really just RNG. I was able to get most of my orange furnishing leads within minutes up to an hour of farming for it. But Minotaur, Giants and Font of Auriel (from Bloodknights) are taking forever for me (I haven't gotten them at least once yet).
As to the wolf mount, I got the Volenfell one on first try, the Darkshade Caverns I after 3 tries and the Darkshade Caverns II after over 50 tries.
RNG is weird, and it sucks balls sometimes (most of the time really).

If they were dropping normally and then suddenly dropped off a cliff with the end of the event, maybe it's bugged?

Would need more data to find out how many are affected, or if it's just bad RNG luck.

      Perhaps create a poll?

I have 4 without even trying. On the NA server I got them from a runestone, a cloth node and a great bear, all while leveling Antiquities. The one I got on the EU server was from a giant in the camp close to Dragon Bridge.
