This thread is hilarious, look at the people feeling weird. xD

Well that's the main reason that I put my male character in outfits like this. If ZOS is going to insist that female characters should have "sexy" options, than I'm going to make some people uncomfortable until ZOS starts creating unrealistic "sexy" options for male characters. Some people get really unhappy when I trot him around in the booty shorts and vest Balmoral outfit. If it's inappropriate for my boy, its inappropriate for my girl.

When I am playing my main character and I see a male in a wedding dress I put on the tux and try to get a screenshot.

I would like to point out that the Dark Passions outfit is no less tailored to the male toons than that suit is on Marlene Dietrich. It fits the way it ought to on the male form. You really should just admit you don't like it and move on.
This is incorrect. The outfit borrows design clues from existing attire that is specifically tailored to the female form. As a trained artist you should be able to see this.
(I should add that I think it's a hideous outfit either way. That's based on MY experience as a STUDIED, AND PAID artist, but it's also just like, my opinion, man.)
I don't think its hideous. I actually like the outfit. I was going to gift one to my GF but she bought it ASAP. I also base my experience AS A STUDID, AND PAID artist.

    [Edited to removed Baiting]

Design =/= tailoring. Sorry, which one are we talking about, again? Marlene's suit is tailored to her body but shares all the same design elements as a man's traditional suit. The Dark Passions outfit is tailored to the male form but shares all the design elements of the woman's outfit. I see no difference, but you say one is acceptable and the other is "ridiculous."

Look, the point is that you're having an emotional reaction to a design you don't like and you're trying to cite your experience as a professional to justify telling everyone what they can and cannot like, and you're not doing a particularly good job of it because you keep shifting the goal posts.

If you like the outfit, I don't understand why you're here decrying it, except to shame people for having a little bit of fun.

In other news, is there a skin or body marking that blackens the body and leaves the face untouched? Asking for obvious reasons.

    @Versispellis

    Here are some

Thank you kindly. Are those in the body markings pack?

Most of them are, the first one was free daily reward. Horror something.

Okay, tyty. I'll preview it with some body markings and see if it makes it more coherent to me! There are parts of it I really love, but the number of exposed skin bits and where they are makes for some compositional weirdness to me. Also that dang flap. 🤣

Being someone who is very much into historical clothing, I'd like to know which supposedly designs these would be. Thigh high boots, cropped coats, waistcinchers/corsets, "shorts", has all been aimed first to men.

Agreed. If I'm not mistaken, high heels were originally for men, too, and let's not forget that pink was a masculine color until quite recently.

Outfit looks pretty crappy no matter the sex of the wearer. Unless you are into massive crotch flaps of course.
So they raised the floor and lowered the ceiling. Except the ceiling has spikes in it now and the floor is also lava.

No, I think VoxAdActa was right. If it wasn't about gender roles you would have just stuck with the "show the biceps" line of thought instead of making it about how men wear suits to look like they have authority and women are there to be "accentuated" by specifically calling out physical attributes.

Why not do the same with men? Muscle shirts to show the biceps. Tight shorts to show off the rear and frontal region (if not for the modesty panel, ofc). Open Freddy Murcury-style shirts to show off the pecs and hairy chests.

Wait, hang on, that's basically what this outfit is... :open_mouth:

I found the original - it says "bearded women" and some other parts are off too. I'd like to think that author of the translation got banned for taking such liberties with meaning for the sake of rhyming.

Can we stop engaging with people who are here to just be disgusted now and post more pictures of male toons rocking the outfit?

My old main toon in his every day:

    I8VXL0A.jpg

Him in a colour-appropriate version of this outfit (that's not my dog in the background):

(Sorry for the potato quality images)

I do kind of wish the modesty panel's colour was connected to the booty shorts and not the jacket, though, I would have had a slightly different colour scheme if that was the case.

Hahaha, got a Tharn clone myself (on PC EU) and, as ALL my characters on PC EU are wearing this outfit, so is he. Whenever my bestie and I team up for the current Festival, it gives her a laugh, as she'd blank on the fact that THAT was what he's wearing again.

Personally, I feel the flap is why it works better for male toons.

Haha @doobat, your Nord has an XBox twin named Oh Nordy. Different beard, but same outfit and hairstyle and color. I’ll screen cap him when I’m on later. Meant to make a big burly Nord dude, gave him sassy eyebrows without realizing because I suck at making dude characters, and went with it. Now he’s one of my favorites.
