Air hitting light and heavy attacks

When I attack group of mobs, I start to aim at one. I look for other mob, releasing projectile on first one. Even when red glow on first target wont still dissapear, projectile will go thru it, doing nothing. Than red glow starts to mark second mob, I release second projectile and it finally hits first one. Problem for Flame and Ice Staff.
Its new for me, because I was used to taunt this way several mobs in very short time. Now when I wish to stay at distance and force mobs to come to me, I have to Inner Rage them all, loosing half of manapool. Is it bug or part of some system changes?
