Lead: Heartlands Painting

Where can I find a lead for Heartlands Painting? Imperial City districts are just a disaster because of PVP players. I can kill mobs, but players kill me every 5 -10 minutes. IC Sewers are not soloable for me. I can kill mobs, but I can't handle bosses solo. What is left - Cyrodiil? Same as Imperial City districts. So, no painting for me?

I see in UESP that it also drops from treasure chests in Cyro. So I guess that's the easy way to go.

Cyro is a vast area and if you stay away from keeps, outposts etc you wont be having any trouble.

cyrodiil is very pve solo-able if you stay away from battles and capture-able locations.

You can farm a Cyrodill delve with many treasure chests like Toadstool Hollow, south of Bruma and hide when you hear another player fighting mobs, or wait until your alliance dominates the map and then do dailies in the towns you hold.

The bosses in the IC sewers have varying difficulty, the first ones of EP and DC and the fourth one of AD (spider) should be the easiest to solo. When there are players that kill you every 5-10 minutes, switch to their side and wait at the boss closest to the base until they pass by on their way to store the Tel Var they took from you.

Or you could wait until the next Midyear Mayhem or IC event...

Also to be clear on Imperial sewers bosses, the stationary bosses (marked on the map with crossed swords) are for the most part much easier than the roaming Coldharbour Elite.

I found one in a chest in delve in Cyrodiil and second on dropped from WB in Imperial City.

I have picked 3 up in chests in cyrodiil. Really just look for maps with low population and try in the mornings. It's even quieter then. I can circle the entire map farming chests without seeing one enemy player.

The most peaceful way to farm it is in a low pop Cyro campaign, preferably in off hours. I've gotten it from picking a flower once, and from doing a city quest once. Think it drops from other sources as well.
Fairly low risk of ganking that way, just make sure to have a char with 60 speed and preferably rapid maneuverability unlocked.

I got mine from a random treasure chest in Cyrodill out in the middle of nowhere.

Thank you for advices - just managed to get the lead from a Cyrodiil delve!

Here's a tip that has helped me many times in Imperial City when I was new, someone from the opposing alliance starts heading for you, face him and raise your shield without making an aggressive move, sometimes they'll leave you alone. Give it a try.

I got mine from doing a dolmen in Cyrodil.

I tired the treasure chest/delve boss route for several days with no luck.

I got mine when I picked up an ancestor silk plant in Cyrodiil.

I’ve gotten several of those from chests (the ones from the treasure maps) while trying to get the motifs.

On Khenarthi's Roost, @zaria - I was digging for the blue after the built in green, the chest was on the way to the digsite in Shattered Shoals.
