Little screenshot from tonight. Taken at 11:30 PM, so in the late primetime.

Depressing, isnt it? And no, this is not due to the AOE testing. This is what has happened EVERY SINGLE NIGHT for at least four months now. AD at 1-2 bars even during primetime. DC at poplock till 10 PM, then going down to 3 bars. At midnight, EP players log in in masses and go poplock to PVDoor the map. DC (usually at 3 bars then) frustrated leaves the game, AD is normally already gone apart from a few towerfarmers that try to pick up randoms at the side of the last remaining fights. Somewhen at 5 AM - when EP has left - a corresponding AD morningcapping group logs in to PVDoor the map in yellow.
Seriously, is this your idea of attractive, interesting PVP, ZOS? Do you really believe that ppl enjoy playing in an alliance with 5-10 players vs 100 of an opposing alliance, running in one big zerg? Do you think this is a fun way to play which will ensure a longterm stable PVP population?
I do not. And seeing the population bar in the picture above, I'm not alone with that opinion. Sure, there are some ppl who only want to PVDoor or fight other players when they outnumber them 10:1 or higher. And sure, nobody wants to be on the 'looser side' where 10 ppl are supposed to defend their last scroll against an incoming 70-man-zerg, so its no suprise that ppl prefer to login with the 100 man zerg instead of the 1-bar-alliance. But this will only accelerated the death of PVP.
So instead of just watching and doing nothing, at least give us an alternative:
- give us a campaign where players are not locked to a certain alliance but where they will be joining the alliance with the lowest pop status atm - solo or in a group
- allow ppl to join a group or specific alliance via a queue system which will only allow alliance-specific entrance while all 3 alliances are balanced
- restart the map and populations at specific times or when one population falls decidedly too low (best with a 15-min-warning ahead)
Yes, this will not be to everybodys liking. Yes, this will open a bunch of problems (e.g. campaing rating which will just make no sense at all - but it does not make any sense right now anyways, so nothing lost there). But this will also give PVP a fresh start and ensure that everybody - no matter at what time of the day he is logging into cyrodiil - will find a population basis which guarantees a fair fight. And everybody who prefers the current system can just stick with the current campaign.
@ZOS_RichLambert and team: You dont have to copy-paste my ideas but at least start thinking about how to balance Cyro-PVP before the last PVPer leaves this game. For a very long time, this was an amazing game with interesting and engaging PVP battles. It would be a shame if PVDoor is all that remains because you decide to just look away and hope that playes fix the balance-problem themselves. (They wont.)
