Wish I'd had a heads up, yes I saw the end date, but since every event I can remember has ended on Tuesday morning at 10, I didn't verify that the 5th was a Tuesday, but would have been nice if they'd said, "Hey we are ending on Monday rather than Tuesday this time"...

I looked and the rest of the events all end on Tuesday, like normal, not sure why they change, but missed out on 3 tickets as a result.

The thing I don't understand about them choosing to end an event on Monday morning, is that most (and since it very often goes awry, very likely all) of that portion of the event will be obliterated by the servers being down for maintenance.

Why even bother scheduling an event to spill into, and end on, a Monday morning, when you already know that your scheduled maintenance is going to disrupt most of the remaining time, or wipe it out completely if there is a problem during maintenance?

    That makes no sense.

Either move the end-time to later in the day on the affected Monday, let the event run until Tuesday morning, or move maintenance for that week to Tuesday.

It caught me by surprise as well. Fortunately, I just generated the willpower to stay up until 2 AM, turn in a daily, and then flop in bed to sleep for the first time in nearly 17 hours.

Yeah I don't know why they say the events will end at a certain time, when they know the effective end of the event will be when maintenance starts on Monday. I was able to download the patch right away, but knew I would have to wait hours to be able to play again.

They began the Western Skyrim event a day earlier than usual, on a Wednesday rather than a Thursday, which is why it ended a day earlier than usual as well-- although I don't know why the start and end were each shifted forward a day.

I seem to remember that at least some of the earliest events also ended on a Monday morning, which meant that the regular Monday morning maintenance (back when those were a weekly thing) would cut into the last day's playtime. Then they settled into the pattern of ending events on a Tuesday morning.

Anyway, I always make myself a list of days when an event is announced, showing how many tickets I expect to have on each day, along with what I need to buy and on which day, to help me keep everything straight.

I am so happy to see these responses, I mean this was absolutely on me, but I really expected at least one rabid white knight to come in here and explain why I'm a moron and shouldn't expect to be spoon fed.

I want to genuinely thank the folks who have responded in a positive way...

After some digging, there have been events that ended on Monday and even Wednesday, but normally in the announcement it says "ending Tuesday (or whatever day), October 6" and in this instance it just said "ending October 5" which I then erroneously thought would be a Tuesday. I will certainly pay attention moving forwad.

Thanks again for the non toxic responses.

Yeah, I am pretty frustrated as well. I also assumed the end date was Tuesday and didn't verify date with day of the week. I had a really awful month, moved across the state, and, due to the incompetence of the new internet provider, ended up being without internet for 10 days rather than 2 which of course coincided almost perfectly with the start of the event. I was really wanting to squeeze in 2 days of tickets (tonight and tomorrow morning since I could quickly turn in before work Tuesday, due to no maintenance).

Same. It is, of course, on us to notice, but I think it caught a lot of people by surprise. I don't think it would be that difficult for them to add the day of the week to the announcement, and it would engender some easy good will from the community, so I' hope they will consider doing that in the future.
