Request: icy damage skills added in the warden class.

With the new introduction of ice damaging effect upon the ice staff , why not also introducing some of the ice skills used by some NPCs in the Western Skyrim to the Warden class. Let's bring an more well riched and amplified scenario where all tastes could be nicely matched creating a more diverse combat atmosphere.

All Frost Wardens would love this.

It makes little sense to have the class skills almost evenly divided between generic Magic Damage and Frost Damage.

Well tbh ice isn't exactly wardens main thing. Nature and Companions it the wardens thing.
It's just like a DKs main thing is fire, not stone.

Doesn't mean that we can't get a 5th viable interesting and useful damage skill that does frost damage, along with changing all animal companions skills to deal frost damage, they'd still be spirit animals, just with slightly different and very useful effects, it's still warden magic in the end. And given how much of a problem arctic blast is in pvp with health stacking, it's a fantastic candidate. There is truely no argument why frost magic shouldn't be featured more prominently on magicka warden, especially given the damage identity that it would bring to this barren subclass in the middle of an identity war with stamden.

Also, not to mention that frost is one of the 3 major elder scrolls elements where earth magic isn't considered one.

Yeah man, this would be great. We've been asking for arctic blast to be a viable damage skill for a long time, it just shouldn't be our main healing skill in pvp because it's currently the only way to stay alive on Magden which is crazy. That's what green balance's skills are designed for, and yet here we are with arctic blast as a weird pseudo dps skill that has a defensive stun and a massive tank heal slapped on it, which is being abused in PvP. PvE tanks don't use this morph, they use polar wind which is really nice to heal allies with, pvp dps struggle to use blast as an offensive stun and living trellis has needed a buff for a while. It's in a good spot to be reworked as a true damage skill with an offensive stun component.

True, we are more akin to Druids rather than Cryomancers thematically, with the exceptions of Shapeshifting (which is taboo in the world of TES) and our elemental magic being restricted to 1 element only.

But Cryomancy is still a subset of the Warden and the Winter's Embrace skilltree could use a bit of an upgrade: some morphs are underwhelming and we could use a few extra sources of Frost Damage/Chilled debuffing within that skill line.

If we're dying for a frost caster in this game, wouldn't Necro make more sense? They already have a frost damaging attack and their fire based skills coud be made frost with no real effort and the player wouldn't even notice since BB doesn't trigger fire procs and no one uses skull anyway.

Warden makes the most sense given the theme of winter's embrace skills and the natural bonuses given to the class through passives.

I parked my warden awhile ago because I just wasn't having fun, I would love to go full on frost mage with my warden and there could be lots of tweaks made to make it work and be a really fun addition. Could even change the bear ultimate to have a morph that makes it look like a polar bear.

As they are right now, warden feel really underwhelming to me. All the frost skills have really cool (pun intended) effects but don't have any weight behind them.

I really like this idea. The Warden is essentially a reverse sorc when it comes to pets. Temporary ones for skils and a permanent one for an ultimate. Most sorc pets do shock damage so making the mag based warden pets do frost damage wouldn’t be too unusual and would make playing a cryromancer more interesting.

    Favorite Foods and Potions
    https://media.giphy.com/media/3otPoTggaYFNd1FdAI/giphy.gif
    • Parse Food for PvE:(DPS) Ghastly Eye Bowl (increases Max Magicka by 4592 and Magicka Recovery by 459 for 2 hours).
    • Gold/Purple Food for Sorc PvP and Meme Tanking:(PvP) Clockwork Citrus Filet (increases Max Health by 3326, Health Recovery by 406 [useful if stage 1 vampire], Max Magicka by 3080, and Magicka Recovery by 338 for 2 hours). Witchmother's Potent Brew (Increase Max Magicka by 2856, Max Health by 3094, and Magicka Recovery by 315 for 2 hours.
    • Trash Potions when feeling cheap: Regular CP150 Essence of Magicka pots that I obtain frequently from playing the game or Crown Tri-Restoration Potion obtained from dailies.
    • Crafted Potions: Essence of Spell Critical (Bugloss, Lady's Smock, and Water Hyacinth). Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar/arcanist will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).

it also makes it more functional too, more frost damage in the kit means more chilled application, and thus more synergy with the frost staff and glacial presence.
