I started playing the game late 2018 after the release of Murkmire. The only issue that kept me from playing before that was because the game had many dlcs and i don't have that much money. But then someone told me about the gift system and tried the game during a free trial week. I liked it, purchased the base game and have been playing ever since. One of the main reasons that kept me here is because i could get the dlcs for free via buying crowns from other players. That time many were actually honest people unlike these days. Dragonguard was the last dlc i purchased without issues, but afterwards in Harrowstorm the number of scammers have increased insanely. I barely purchased Harrowstorm and ever since been working on farming the gold needed for Q3 Dlc and till Q1 of 2021. Just minutes ago, i got scammed for the fifth time... Around 2-3M gold was lost to scammers and what ZoS is doing? "Oh it's your problem"
Sure it's kind of my problem and the blame on me, but seeing a lot of scammers in the game is sad enough. Are they even punished? Honestly even the thoughts of scamming other players occurred to me. Why should i be honest among scammers? I can scam others, get enough gold to purchase whatever i like from the crown sellers in Discord without actual efforts. Why should i be honest?
But that's not me. I'll not let someone suffer for my favor, that's why i'm leaving. This game is not friendly as it was, or perhaps it wasn't at all. Why i am not paying from Discord sellers if i know about them? Because they are insane. Crowns used to be 200/1c but nowadays it's 500-600/1c and farming gold isn't really easy. Youtube guides aren't really helpful. Trading guilds aren't competitive at all because there are no actual rules for trading. As long as you make gold for the guild by any means then you're okay, even by undercutting other people by 1g. Discord channels are same too, they increase the price insanely for their favor. Monopoly? Perhaps.
Anyway i'm leaving. Thanks for the year of the dragon. It has been an awesome year, this year it wasn't. I can't play a game for weeks to make a gold that will be stolen from me. I'd have ignored it for the first two times, but seeing it becoming common is more than enough for me. I'll start looking for a game with honest community and with a currency not near impossible to farm. Perhaps it's there, perhaps it's not.
