Sweepstakes on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram? Hmm . . .

Whisper_292
That's all well and good if we have one or more of those apps. But there are so many of us who either don't have them or have them and don't use them. I'm wondering if maybe we could add these forums to that list. It makes so much more sense because it's directly relevant to ESO and we wouldn't have to wade through all the political BS on Twitter and the multitude memes on Facebook and Instagram to find the sweepstakes.

Gina? Maybe? Pretty pleeeze?

Given that Sweepstakes are frequently used to gather personal data and/or encourage other similar things, I'd bet that "get people to sign up for and/or Follow us on <social media platform>" is part of the goal of this contest. So they're not likely to waive that requirement.

Hmm, actually, it looks like that part of it ("share stories about doing thing together, using the #TamrielTogether hashtag!") is separate from the actual sweepstakes.

Still, the overall "get more people on our social media accounts, and get free publicity from people making ESO posts on social media" goal looks like a major part of the event for them. So, yeah. The point of the whole thing is Increased Social Media Visibility. These forums don't help with that.

edit: if what you're asking is why they didn't advertise it here on the forums.... yeah, it's not on the "News" subforum. But it is on the main Game page News feed. https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/news/post/58841

I entered through an email. Have you checked your email account? If you have an email account that is.

Good to know, guys. did know now it was advertised on the main page. My concern was strictly the locations where we could enter, so we're good. Thanks for the heads up.
