Look I main PvE with a tank. So I’ve seen my fair share of horrible players.
But some of them are learning I can get that. We’ve all been new.
My thing is this...if you come into a dungeon, and you don’t know mechanics or you are new to the dungeon...ADMIT IT AND ASK! There’s no shame in saying upfront “hey I’m new and could use some guidance.” As a tank I’ve helped many people with their first dungeon runs. I was in there shoes once and if you man up and admit it, most players won’t be angry, we will help.
DPS....if you are struggling with rotation, or struggling with damage output, don’t be afraid to ask for help. But be warned, players will help you but they won’t sugarcoat anything. Be prepared for criticism!

I and many more people will respect you if you ask for help and better yet...maturely take advice. We were all new once and at one point we all needed some guidance

(...) I’ve seen my fair share of horrible players(...)

    Don't we all?

If help with mechs is asked I don't mind at all explain them.
If I see my group members runing around like mad, I also give them an insight about what are they supposed to do.
Sometimes no one says nothing not even a "Hello" once we start the dungeon or don't even seem to have the chat on and/or they don't speak english as I write "chest here" or "heavy sack here" and they don't approach the place where I'm at...

    Edit: typo

Players can't say they haven't been in a dungeon before, as many groups would instantly kick those players. I have seen this happen many times before.

As a tank I always say hello, and point out chests/heavy sacks. But I hardly check chat myself, as I am usually busy inside a dungeon. So when other players call out a chest or heavy sack, there's a high chance I won't see them call it. Luckily I spot most, like 99% of those, myself anyways.

i say it when I group, although it's on normal dungeons so, so far I haven't had any issues with people's attitudes.

Completely agree. I’ve always said this, if you are new to a dungeon, say so up front. The vast majority of players are more than happy to explain mechanics and help you learn, we just need to know that it’s needed.

If you stay quiet we assume that everyone in the group knows the fights (and their role) and get frustrated when we wipe to easily avoidable mechanics.

I fully agree with OP. This might sound toxic, but some of these level 200-300 don't know mechanics but tries to teach a level 810(1200) tank with vHoF title, how to do mechanics for tanks, for exampel vCoA2. I've seen that way too much.
I always give them an ultimatum, leave, shut it or kick me.

Yea, some noobs find them selves better than they are.

It depends if they have done it on normal or not.. I can't stand when they try vSCP first time, without ever trying it on norm..
If they have, we give them everything thats needed on vet.

And you know that ofc <3

Disagree, because I don't kick new players - I kick people who refuse to do mechanics, after they're explained, and AFTER several wipes due to standing in red, not freeing allies, etc.

When I'm tanking a mechanics heavy dungeon, I ask if anyone doesn't know the mechanics. I'm not asking so I can kick, I'm asking if I need to open a notepad document with a lot of typing so I can cut/paste into chat. I've never gotten a negative answer. What does happen is we wipe, I explain, we wipe, I explain, 4-5 times and THEN people will do the mechanics. Really REALLY frustrating.

Just admit if it's been a while, or you've only run normal, especially in a vet DLC dungeon. If you are in a pug, 99% chance the pug does NOT have over 100k DPS (120-150k is necessary) and can ignore mechanics. Just because you saw Alcast run something with 3 100k+ DPS and ignore mechanics doesn't mean you can do that in a pug.

Learn to trust your tanks. Most of us run DPS meters - to track group DPS so we know where the group will have issues. Most of us know multiple ways to manage fights. We all HATE when you caltrops/send a pet and keep enemies out in the edge - or just fight 1 enemy at a time in a trash mob. Trust us to chain, to know what we're doing. And also, know your rotation,. KNOW that caltrops is a CC, which means you throwing it out ahead of me just screwed me rounding adds up for AoE. Know that I don't need your bear to "tank the boss" for me. Know that even if my health is fine, my resource bars are not, and yes I do need orbs or shards.

Also, DPS - LET YOUR TANK RUN THE FIGHT! Just because you can dodge roll indefinitely doesn't mean we can. Let your tank call the fight, they are taking the majority of the damage, and know what their build can/can't do.
