Ancestral Breton Heavy Chest?!

I was playing PTS and found an enemy wearing armor very similar to Breton armor, with a few differences:

It was more rustic, had a more refined 3D model (with the belts and metal plates being more than just textures) and looked much more like the type of armor compatible with the Elder Scrolls franchise!



I was quite surprised by the look, I'm sure that many did not like the new look, but I fell in love with the rustic aspect used by ZOS. I look forward to the release of this style.

the ahem, other two vampires you encounter in the prologue are also wearing an updated version of both breton light and medium.
the medium in particular is of note as the shoulders are using the more modern rigging style of being rigged on the side of the arm rather then floating off the top of the shoulder (this looks terrible on some motifs, as they would "bob" as you moved)

so yes the entire of the breton armor style has been re done, and as its my favorite base armor style im really looking forward to an "ancient breton" armor style

this is a better way to handle it then replacing the old (as was done with redgaurd and orc back in the day)

in fact i hope when we get "ancient redguard" its the OG style with updated textures.

First 3 ancient armors were much more redesigned so I don't think this what we will get. It may be just quick retexture with some adjustments for NPC - otherwise it will be dissapointing.

That's a good point there. The style would be a let down if these were to be the finalized ancestral breton motif, plus it wouldn't dye as well as some of the base game pieces either. I'm sure the ancestral breton motifs will have a much better, refined look than what Gwendis & Verandis were wearing during this year, which looked like they were just quick designs & dyes would prob look terrible on those if they came out like that.
