If you're going to count that (you shouldn't) then most classes are "forced" to double slot skills.
DK: Inferno
Necro: Bitter Harvest, Siphon, Tether, Expunge (4!)
NB: Death Stroke morphs, Concealed Weapon
Templar: Restoring Aura
Warden: Falcon's Swiftness morphs, Feral Guardian
Non-class: Defensive Posture, Expert Hunter, Magelight

What I really want is a warden pet that acts more like the hunter pets in WoW. And I'm sure that's not a popular idea.... but damn, I miss my pets that were really great tanks....
Thing is, the bear doesn't even hold aggro. Painful.

But most classes do not have 3 of those skills in their skill trees. That's the point. Then again we can argue how powerful other classes skills are, so much so that they too should be forced to be double slotted, huh?
If your build relies on the heals from Surge, you will have to sacrifice again to get that crit chance up.
Yes. Yes you still do.
They nerf Streak with cost increase plus threaten with a potential CD. They nerf crits without compensating Sorcs for loss of potential heals on crit dmg. If your build relies on the heals from Surge, you will have to sacrifice again to get that crit chance up. They removed the 3rd Sorc bar (Sorc skills only btw), which was a compensation for forcing double slotting. And they still force players to double slot 3 Sorc skills... While Stamina players get buffs, debuffs, heals, heals on dmg, executes and what not running from their ears.

I'm not arguing about the pets, but Sorcs aren't "forced" to double slot Bound Aegis any more than Necros are "forced" to double slot all 4 of their skills that provide bonuses for being slotted.

I noticed that the pets would attack even if i'm in sneak, so that was the end if slotting any pets for me.

that's not pet fault but your lack of knowledge (not insulting, just saying perhaps you don't know how pet controls work).
when pets are cast, by default they are in auto aggro state. you can easily set them to non-auto aggro - your controls may differ but on PC default keybind is Y-right click.
Y-right click to non-auto aggro makes them attack only if you directly attack an enemy and initiate the pet into combat - two most common ways to initiate a pet into combat from their non-aggro state is to:
a) do a heavy attack to point and initiate your non-aggro state pets back into active auto aggro state
b) cast daedric prey
I've done the entire Dark Brotherhood max achievements with 5 different magsorcs and never triggered an unwanted pet attack by simply setting them to passive non-aggro state. You just need to remember to Y-right click or whatever keybind after casting the pet.

I wouldnt blame him if he didnt know how pet aggro works as the only way you know it exists in game is if you accidentally find it in the keybinds.

Would you like those skill to be recast every 20 seconds instead? Because that's the alternative.

Somehow I think that this is not the Only alternative.
They could last 60 seconds ...
They could stay out until killed or unsummoned despite being only in one slot, allowing you to back bar them....
They could be transparent around crafting stations so they did not block others from using them ...
or was that another issue ?
IMHO
