Riding is Really Bad at Low Levels Now

I find that I can only go a few feet at any decent speed. I can run much longer and faster on a new character I am leveling.

This is a bad outcome of the changes here. Making mounts worthless is not good.

Perhaps it really was always this slow, but this seems much worse.

Or level you mounts speed and stam... What you expect out of a new char? lol.

Also if this relation to stam bug GG ZoS take months to figure that one out.

You can max out your mount right after character creation if you by the speed thingies from crown store. Maybe that was their intent when they moved Rapids.

There’s currently a mount stamina bug. Pc already got the patch, hopefully it will be in this week's patch for console, but yeah it’s really annoying even on a fully upgraded mount.

They expect free Rapids. This is another "giverapidsback" thread.

Well, they aren't going to. With the AP boosters in the crown store now you have a cheaper way to get to assault level 5. Although they did put them in the base game...but that grind is gonna take weeks...

Well, with the time some players are spending crafting sour grapes posts in the forums, they could have spent that time getting Assault 5 on multiple characters instead.

Yeah, i said this in chat earlier today. I thought all the people complaining about the Rapids change were just being whiney but since this event rolled around I've been playing on my alts and all the stam ones are Fine bc I needed to get Vigor on them before but all my mags are quite slow and it sucks... I don't mind spending the time to level my Alliance lines just hard pressed to find the time during an event and a whole week of Twitch drops, I'd rather spend it getting loot instead of running hours of PVP for little reward.

Personally, I don't have any issue with slow mounts. I have all the time in the world, and really I just don't care how long it takes to get somewhere - especially since this game comes replete with multitudinous wayshrines....

However, I do understand it's a major issue for many. So I hope the devs fix it for you.

I don't really think I'ma hold my breath on that though.... CS....

And what's wrong with that? Stupid decision in the first place. Why they didn't swap it with Siege Shield only the money men know.

Obvious and logical solution for mounts being slower than running is to nerf running so new characters have to ooze slowly across Tamriel no matter what. The purpose of a MMO is to produce revenue with least possible investment. Can't have that with players quickly swooping thru content and having fun.

With me, horse simulator is NOT a fun game, because the longer I sit in this chair, the more back and arm pain I have. I have nerve damage in my arms, and unrelated back pain. Slowing my horse down is not fun for me ... it just makes me able to play less.

Well, they haven't responded to the old thread, make a new one?

Spreading the same issue onto multiple threads generally gets them locked. Then again, I dont have a horse in this race.

I was not aware of another thread and didn't see it looking today. I do know this is really painful to me now.

Home a campaign in Cyrodill, buy a bunch of keep/door repair kits go to keeps on the front line repair a few walls, let the other players repel enemy sieges rake in that keep defense tick and you will get to level 5 without ever fighting anyone.

Keep gets overrun when the defenders lose you just get killed screw riding and repeat the process at another keep till you get to level 5, you should already be at level 3 if you did the tutorial in Cyrodiil.

I did this with all 18 of my characters got them all to tier 1 of their campaign rewards in two days of play, got rapids back on almost all of them at the same time.

I am leveling a new character and running is faster than riding, so I don't get to see any of the mounts I bought (Crowns, gold or otherwise). That is annoying.

No it isn't. I don't even know what Rapids is/was, so I couldn't be asking for it back.

I may have had it, since I have so many alts, but riding did not seem so horrid at the lowest levels for them.

I agree. I feel enough pain in my hands these days, so having more time playing and less going really slow would be far preferable.

Horses are painfully slow on new characters. Far worse than I remember. Recently made a new character and there is 0 reason to even use the mount, it's barely faster than walking and far slower than running on foot.

Honestly feel battlespirit in Cyrodiil should make your horse speed/stamina max. Allows new players to actually get to the action and have fun.

I actually took a break from the game.
Just logged in to do some writs and riding lessons.

Meanwhile my "low level toons" have >40 speed, so it is not THAT annoying any more, and I slowly start to play them again.

I also levelled 4 to assault 5, then gave up on it (need 6 more), as it is boring grind, and I don't play a game to get bored, but because I want to have fun.
Saved me money though, a game where you rarely login does not encourage to invest additional money in it.
