I never get purple leads, and I've been off and on grinding antiquities since before this event. I've dug up hundreds of blue leads by this point. What ridiculous odds do they have behind purple leads, because it needs to change.
I'm sure most of us are grinding antiquities lately, so lets hear it: How many of you have gotten a purple lead since you started grinding green/blue leads?

When you dig up green you get a blue eveytime, and the first time you dig up that blue you get a purple ( once only per area). You can then re-dig the green and blue loop as many times as you want. Purple is a one time per account lead. Unless it is a purple lead for something else. I'm talking about the treasure leads that sell for 5000.

I'm guessing its so people wouldn't abuse it in order to earn large quantities of gold.
As for the other purple leads, they are typically for furniture or motif or pieces of a mythic item. They cannot be sold and are account bound. You can also get more than one.

Just wow.
I think they should be added back into the lead pool. They don't need to be a guaranteed drop, although that would be nice... divines forbid more players become upper or middle class
Just reduce their value then? As much as I hate RNG, add them as a decent/rare chance to drop from blue? What a "silly," for lack of better words, way to handle the problem of players making too much gold off a system you implemented. It would be nice to not have the rug constantly pulled out from under us for once.

Oddly, the drop rates between blue-purple-gold seem to be arbitrary. For instance, the leads for some motifs are blue and they drop very frequently in the treasure map treasure chests. However, some of the leads for the wolf mount are also blue and can take an eternity to get if they drop from trash mobs. Similarly, the gold leads for things like the Altar of Celestial Convergence drop almost all the time in the Craglorn trials. Compare that to some of the purple leads you get from overland nodes that can take forever.
The ones that drop from dungeon bosses are the most frustrating. Still haven't got the lead from Direfrost and it took well over 50 runs of Darkshade 1 to get the last mount lead.
Despite these quirks, I actually enjoy scrying. Can be relaxing sometimes to sit back and treasure hunt.
