Keep trying Bow Builds, keep going back to DW

I tend to switch between Bow and Spells in TES:V, so the idea of an Archer build in ESO has always been in my mind. I've seen the Bow Builds and I've seen how people work them in PvP. It's not impossible, but each time I've tried it, it's just so uncomfortable and clunky, at least in PvP. Most players you come across close to melee range and in long range I feel MagSorcs are dominant. I lasted a good ten minutes before I got fed up and threw my Daggers back on.

In PvE though it's so nice. Lethal Arrow > LA > Poison Inject two shots most Mobs. Sometimes your Lethal Arrow will crit for a one shot. When I went into the Manse Public Dungeon in the March to loot Bosses, LA weaving Arrow Spray at the mob clusters was utterly fantastic and made getting through a breeze compared to my single target DW bar.

Has anyone made a Bow Build work in both aspects of the game? And I mean that by not just being a 100% gank build in PvP.

I have played bow/bow for a couple years. Its very possible. Unfortunately, like you... i had to get stomped over and over again before i learned what worked and what didn’t.

Like anything you learn, you probably aren’t going to be successful till you invest time in it.

If you want to play an archer in pvp, don't use snipe, it's only good for ganking. As an archer, use bow light and heavy attacks.

I've made a bow build using only 1 bow skill on my bar, most of the damage comes from your light attacks and relentless focus (You have to be a Nightblade) use draining shot when they come close, Speed is important for this build, use wild hunt ring for even more speed.

For this build to work, You need undaunted infiltrator, Spriggans or Nma, 2 piece molag kena, Sharpened Bow and shadow mundus (Wild hunt is Optimal). Put 61 points into physical Weapon expert, 61 into master at-arms, 56 into precise strikes, 51 into piercing and 40 into mighty, rest is up to you.

Your main combo is 5 light attacks > relentless focus > Go up close to them and use Killer's blade( You can use poison injection if you want) Use any ulti, I use incap for the stun and 20% damage increase.

This isn't a 1v1 or 1vX build, you're an archer, attack from range and utilize your speed, hope this helped.

and kiss your bow passives bye bye...along with the fact that its a bow...umm, ranged? We cant all be like Legolas and stab mobs with our bows! ;)

Ive played with two different bow builds in pvp and both are super effective.

Clearly its a different play style from DW/melee. Its ranged and maintaining your range can be done in several ways. But you can never mitigate entirely someone trying to close in and engage in melee, that's just a fact and rightly so, else bow would be over powered.

Zos actually made a few changes to some sets/weapons that really didnt help the bow play style at all. Very frustrating :(

Oh, and pve wise, yeah it can be great fun as well!

Unless you want to gank in PvP, you should probably use something else other than lethal arrow. Unfortunatly, lethal arrow while it hits hard it is still very easy to avoid abd interuptable. Interupt are probably one of the works CCs you can get in the game imo. If you fight magsorcs, you will be stunned on cooldown for using lethal arrow. Moat melee players will dodge roll lethal arrow and bash you.

While everyone thinking about using daul wield and 2H on magicka charcters, I'm thibking about using inferno staff to spam crystal weapon and ele drain from distance in PvP.

This is click bait because you are throw you bow passives away. also, most PvP bow people are squishy, so being in melee range where everyone can inturept snipe is a bad idea. I'm looking forward to using it in PvE.

If you are trying bow in pvp you have to rely on its strengths because the weaknesses are all too impactful. That means ganking from afar with snipe or keeping enemies at 10m range distance and relying on utility of bow skills combined with damage of class skills.
Either way its gonna suck. There is good reason very few people actually play with bow front. Reading forum you would let to believe bow is too strong that people avoid it out of honor :D reality is its great risk little reward play style unless you stick to wall and snipe spamming then its just no risk barely reward.

I think a morph where you hit someone in melee with the bow and stun them would be great. even better if you leap backwards afterward.
Playing your character the way your character should play is all that matters. Play as well as you can but never betray the character. Doing so would make playing an mmoRPG pointless.

I’d say use bow but use the silver bolt as your spammable
Use the healing morph for that bow ability and enter hunt on back bar to help keep distance with dodge roll.
For classes kit I’d use either NB, necro warden
I have been theory crafting a pvp bow necro build.
