Is the one pet necropotence build still a good dps build for Magsorc?

I always use a pet, but and previously everyone recommended necropotence gear. Will my DPS go up if I get necropotence to go with my Mother's Sorrow? I want to be able to run veteran dungeons and pull my weight.

Pets now take your spellpower into account. So Necropotence isn't as good as it used to be. Burning Spellweave and Julianos perform better. Still, it's just a minor difference. If you have it golded out already, use that set.

Honestly, I'm running Necropotence + Crafty Alfiqi + Maw on my 2 pet sorc and haven't noticed much of a difference. I did switch my mundus from the mage to the apprentice to get more spell power, and I may experiment with replacing Alfiqi with Destruction Mastery, or going infused jewelry with weapon damage glyphs (or both) to see which performs best, but I'm not about to make wholesale changes to a character that still seems to be working just fine.

Honestly, you want to pair MS with a trial set if you can. If you dont have a trial set (minor slayer is what you are after), necro will work as well as anything. I

One pet sorcs are pulling close to 90k on a dummy, 2 pets are closing in on 94k or so. Perfectly competitive, but from a magic perspective, a well played NB or 2 pet sorc is going to beat you (a good templar will probably barely beat you as well). Nightblades have the highest ceiling, but are significantly harder to pull high numbers. The current magic pecking order goes something like this:

Magic NB>2Pet Sorc>Templar>1 pet Sorc=DK=Necro=Warden>no Pet sorc.

Well-written guide. There are details you could do differently, but overall this is a fantastic guide and if you have that build, you're ready for any content.
