PUG Dungeons Queue Times

Just a suggestion here, but I think part of the reason why the wait times are so long, is because we're waiting for that one player to accept the invite. How many times have you sat in queue and the system tells you the player didn't accept the invite and you have to start all over? Granted you're placed in front of the line, but this can happen several times but imagine the queue system having to do this thousands of times every minute on each server. I'm sure this adds to the overall wait time for everyone.

My suggestion when queuing for PUG dungeons, don't be in a position where you can't accept the invite, go fishing or collect materials while waiting for invite. Its a team effort and we're all in this together.

Cheers!

Easier said than done when DPS have a wait time of 45 minutes. All it takes is someone getting into a world boss fight because they are farming overland gear while waiting. Far better just to pull them into the dungeon regardless if they are queued.

I mean, I get that, and I'm sure everyone queues up with the intention of doing that, but life happens sometimes and you have to go afk suddenly.

As a tank I yesterday spend 1 minute in a dungeon queue... the horror! Luckily, today they were instant again! :naughty:

On a more serious note, I can understand DPS missing their queue pops, as it takes so long they end up doing something else. Happened to me a lot as well when I was DPS, thinking I had time for a bathroom break, come back and the queue is gone.
I doubt many players are actually tied up in-game with something which would make them miss their queue's. More often it is reallife stuff.

Lots of premades are farming right now too. So that’s less people in the pool. Premades usually have the tank and/or healer covered already that means a backup in the DPS queue. Longest wait I’ve had was maybe 20 minutes just to drop into what was a speed run on the new DLC. Didn’t even have time to grab the quest. Hit the ground and just tried to keep up. Not the best experience but plenty of free drops.

I mainly tank as well and I notice I'm usually waiting on a DPS to accept the invite and I was just thinking of how many times does this happen. Last week I went through 4 consecutive invites before dropping in the dungeon. This post was more of thinking out loud and I was curious as to what other might think.

You bring up a good point on real life stuff, things do happen.

    Easy to miss as DPS

When you're in combat the notification doesn't pop up, so you have to watch that tiny notification icon.

Also when you change zone it kicks you out of que which is extremely frustrating.

On the other hand if it would just auto accept you'd risk porting into the dungeon with people who had been afk for 10 minutes lol. Not fun either

They should make it so dungeon notification pop up during combat and so that you could change zone and still be in que

I wish there was a way to acknowledge the queue without immediately being ported. Sometimes I just need a few seconds to finish what I'm doing. I've dropped out of 45 minute waits before because I was looking at a Mother's Sorrow Flame Staff in the chest I just opened...and then pops the queue and I have no way to grab it before I get ported. I have to refuse the queue prompt if I want the shiny.

No kidding. It should just have a timer like "Group formed, porting to Dungeon in 15 seconds..." or similar. They already have a "removing from area" after you complete the dungeon, why not just add a small one of the same thing before you get ported in. Imagine an ESO with more focus on balanced QoL and bugfixing instead of the current state of affairs...

One can dream but I fear that dream is split up into several pipes. :p

You know you could just press the ESC button to get back the focus (send queue prompt to background) to continue what you were doing, then accept the prompt when you are ready.
