Since the update I've been getting this on all my accounts every day. Has anyone else had this issue?

Now most internet service providers allocate IP addresses on login.
If you don't have an router or cable modem say you have an wifi ISP and shut down your laptop each nigh or use an mobile net you get an new random IP address the next day.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

This is all true, but in my case, my modem and router have been on and had the same IP for the last 50 days

Weird, now I suspect its your ISP who has issues and yes this affect all sort of services not only ESO.

Not that i'm above blaming comcast for as much as I can, do you have any specific ideas? I've had many issues over the years, but this would be a new issue for me. I was mainly seeing if this issue had been cropping up recently for anyone else--troubleshooting was going to be my next step if nobody else had the issue and we could rule out ESO being finicky.

I haven't seen that with ESO. The only time I've seen anything similar is when a site uses a cookie to record the fact that I'm a registered user and the cookie got deleted.

As others have said, this usually happens if your IP address changes, however, I have also seen this happen just logging in from a different computer/device even on the same network. If it's not your ISP or another known machine login, are you using a VPN? If so, assigned IP addresses just from a quick disconnect/reconnect usually will change your public IP. A security measure you might think about is changing your password and ensure it is different from your email and forum password. If anyone else has successfully logged into your account that would also cause that message to popup next time you logged in.

On another note but similarly related I've been having some very strange login issues with my account as well over the last few weeks. At random, I will start getting a message "invalid username/password" not only via the game but also via the website to login to my account...when just 6-12 hours before I was logged in just fine. Thing is, I changed nothing and I have ENSURED my account was secured entirely and nothing of my own was compromised. Doing a password reset via the website (yet again) and all is good, I am just waiting until the next occurrence at this point since it has happened 3 times in the last few weeks already. Something is off, and I really wish I could blame it on my end, but it's certainly not the case. ESO really needs to up their security with better 2FA options imho. I have never had these types of issues since I have had my account, and that spans several years. Something is definitely going on and again, it wasn't a compromise on anything of mine, I have done a deep dive on all of it to guarantee it wasn't.

More info here if you or anyone else is interested in reading about what happened to me last week. Hopefully it will not become a widespread problem:

I mean, technically the email code is a version of 2FA, it's just not enforced all the time. And it did not happen again tonight (so far).
And no, no vpn, no different computer, no other logins, etc. I know how ips work, my ubiquiti router has an uptime of 2 months right now. I hadn't been doing anything different, but this popped up (looking at my emails) on 9/6 and again 9/8 and 9/9. The first time it happened on both my accounts, which I thought was strange, so I thought maybe ZOS did something, but then it kept happening on my main, so I became curious.

Only issues I get are the occasional 304 account already logged in, but I already know I'm not the only one who gets those (happens to guildies), nor was I actually logged in at the time (I've asked people). Though the first time that happened I got freaked out so much I changed my passwords!

But if it has subsided, and if nobody has the same issue, I guess we can chalk it up to a fluke.

I had the same issue a couple of weeks ago so I know how annoying it is. My issue turned out to be caused by the new AMD graphics card/drivers I installed. I was using Nvidia before. Why and how this suddenly became an issue was never made clear to me.

I went back from AMD to Nvidia for multiple reasons, and when I did, the issue dissapeared. It could have been the card, or the drivers, but it definitely wasn’t my router.

I’m not offering a solution, I know, just saying it can be related to internal hardware/software rather than your router/IP.

Yeah, I'm not sure what kind of hardware fingerprint they use, and how sensitive it is to things like windows updates, etc.

I replaced my router already because of some major d/c issues I was having. My ubiquiti has been smooth as butter.

My puter was in the shop getting a midlife upgrade and tuneup when the patch/update occurred. I got the same warning first time I logged in after getting it back. Have not had it repeat. I'm guessing my puter reestablishing its connection with my ISP after using the shop's ISP while in the shop is the reason. Don't know if this info helps.
