Disgusting Zone Chat (NAPC)

IDK how many other zones this is happening but [snip] trolls have invaded Auridon Zone Chat and it has gotten very disturbing. There's a few people in particular that are saying things I won't repeat and have reported them but something needs to be done.

Never seen anything like this in all my years of playing.

I usually have zone turned off because I have better things to do than read what idiot trolls post.

Take SS and report them. With the new code of conduct, I would expect that could possibly cross the line.

Yeah, I've seen this a few times as well when I was there recently and the same people I saw doing it were also claiming masks don't work etc, etc.

Crap, I'm sorry to hear that.

Some days I'm ashamed to be American, but I want to assure you that we are not all like that.

I would report any such thing, and will if I see it. So far I've tended to really enjoy PC NA zone chat. Mostly.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

This is a problem that already has a solution. Just use the ignore option.

I frequently put people who talk politics on my list from both sides of the political aisle. Because I can promise you there are plenty of t-words from both.

I think people who want to debate politics should really just go frequent a political chat room. There are plenty of those out there. A lot of people play video games to escape things like politics.

Pretty sure some people have run out of Ignore slots. Max is 100. There've been forum posts asking for that limit to be expanded but so far I haven't seen ZOS say anything about that.
100 seems like a lot but clearly it can add up and you have no idea if people have left the game so you don't know when to take them off the list to make room.

LOL, go ahead! I mostly say it because it tends to confuse people enough that it derails the conversation.

I agree their affiliation should not matter regardless and would not normally comment on Politics. I play ESO to escape this toxicity and my reasoning in this instance was bc the tasteless, vulgar and obscene incitement of extreme violence I witnessed in chat.
Yeah how about doing something about the politics issue in the game??? Editing the forum is not particularly helpful.

The devs job here is to moderate the forums, I don't believe what happens in game is within their control but my hopes in posting here is that they could direct this matter to the appropriate authority.

Forum mods are NOT devs or gms they have little control in game usually. A gm or dev will pop in here from time to time. But all in all best you can do is report ppl using the ingame report option.

I think we all know exactly who is the subject of discussion despite having to dance around the name like Voldemort. It will only invoke more of the same trolls when you call their names.

I'm not harassing the mods. Just pointed out the flaw in the logic. Mods or anyone shouldn't be above criticism and if people reporting it in game hasn't had anything done about it I question if anything will. If they close a topic due to being criticized and people pointing out the flaws in their actions then they shouldn't have a job working as a mod. The mods are essentially representatives of ZOS on these forums and they should be able to behave as such to improve the image of them taking the action of silencing any who question them just makes the company look bad. And if that is the action they do indeed take their employers should take a very close look at them and see if they are fit for said job. Point being that it was unnecessary action to take out words of what the person was talking about since it was only in mention of these real world politics being mentioned in the game not to start a debate on said politics.

Thank you. That is what I was trying to say. I’m aware that the forum mods don’t control what happens in game but deleting people’s posts that are simply discussing the issue while the actual issue still persists is ridiculous.

Edit: sorry I messed up your quote somehow.

I've seen some absolutely disgusting things on PS4 NA zone chat too. I don't know how these people are allowed to continue. It's one thing to disagree on economics and stuff, but when it comes to people expressing bigotry, inciting violence, or harassing people about using PPE that shouldn't even be considered a political opinion. That's just vile and harmful and has tangible consequences.
