Healer class Warden vs Templar

Hello,
I am actually playing a sorcerer, and I am tired to wait during queue because everybody play damage dealer, so i would like to create Healer which could switch to damage dealer (if i am tired of healing role).
On reddit i saw a lot of peoples prefering the warden to heal, and others the templar, but those topics are old.
Today in 2020, what would be the best choice for a healer ?

thanks
Ced

    Warden Healers are awesome.
I swap between Warden Healer and Magden often, you just need enough skill points to do so with out having to remove some of the skills and place then in another line.

But really, it comes down to what you are going to have the most fun with and enjoy.

Mostly, i would like to be able to swap between dd and heal for dungeons (depending who is needed), the warden concept please me...

Either class works fine for healing and damage, @fced. The choice is yours.

As To2C said, both are good. More importantly, both are very viable in the more challenging content in this game. It is best to have one of each class, but the one people heal best on is the one they are most experienced on.

I mained healing for around 2 years and have recently got back into it again.

I started with a Warden and healed plenty of vet dungeons and vet trials successfully, though it was never fully optimised or "finished", I was perfectly happy with my Warden healer.

Everyone raved about Templar for healing so I made one. Once I did frankly I hardly ever found a use for the Warden again, the fact was, and still is for the most part, that Templar healing is simply easier and more reliable and I found the toolkit better for support and indeed helping out with damage.

Both my Warden and Templar healers are more advanced and better kitted out now, far closer to the meta, though Im still adding to the end game sets needed. I would still always favor my Templar.

Warden is great and can help out with certain support needs that a Templar cant, but over all I would still rather use my Templar.

That is all. You may go about your business.

I have a magicka warden tank, and a stamina warden healer/dps. They're my favorite out of all my other characters (I have a stamcro heal/dps, templar tank/heal, and sorc dps).

On my stam healer I use Symbiosis (pairs so well with green lotus), Budding seeds, and stam shrooms. Depending on how demanding heals will be, I just swap out this or that for more dps skills.

I have a magden DD which I can switch out for a hybrid healer/DD for BG. It works decently enough that it can sometimes be the difference in a scuffle.

Not sure I'd try it for pledges though as I don't want to disappoint!

Let me guess, someone stole your sweetroll!

I have one of each. Both are good but I favor the Templar when it counts.

The Warden's class purge is multipurpose like the Templar's but is self only. The comparable Templar class purge helps allies as well.

Whereas the Warden needs to slot orbs, the Templar can slot either shards or orbs or, often, both.

I find the Templar has more options when it comes to burst heals.

The Warden has a nice defense skill that covers allies and that is nice.

Warden has more reliable heals, on constant inflow, with a mix of some mitigations and controls, but needs to go off-class for restoring resources to the party.

Templar has strong burst heals, but doesn't offer much for mitigation outside of Nova, and needs to go off-class for reliable influx of healing (HoTs).

Both classes need to go off-class for most reliable purge, but Templar CAN offer it via a Synergy.

Off-class (Purge>Cleanse Morph) is really just a better option for both, as then it isn't tied to a synergy.

With sets like winter's respite, templar can have nice HoT built-in all of his ground based abilities.

    lol
Everybody know the best tank is the Dragon knight :)
it seem both classes are good to heal (and to switch to dd if needed), i will eventually create one of each to have a better idea of the their healing mechanic ...

About the ressources, all the healers (templar and warden) i see in the game use the necrotic orb, so it seem every healer classes need off-classe skills ...

Everybody here agree to say the templar have better skills when it come to heal, burst heal, clean negative effect, and ressource management...
I should have created a poll (if it was possible) :)

    Thank you for your advices...

If you want to alternate between healer/dd - go templar. Warden can dps but the rotation needs to be more polished in comparison to slapping on vamp bane/shards/jabs/jesus beam and going to town on adds. I find warden to be the better healer personally if you’re familiar with incoming damage as is lacks a burst heal but yeah, go temp for swapping between roles and retaining a burst heal whilst you’re being a half dd/half healer.

And the cleanse negative effect is just a weak argument -- it's on a synergy and self, not the party.
