https://account.elderscrollsonline.com/privacy-policy

This:

Audio, video and other electronic data: Includes audio, electronic, visual, thermal, or similar information, such as photographs and images (e.g., that you provide us or post to your profile), call recordings (e.g., of customer support calls), and User photos submitted (such as profile images).
Inferences: Includes inferences drawn from other personal information that we collect to create a profile based on your account and activities, that reflect your preferences, characteristics, behavior, attitude and abilities related to the Services.

It looks like you literally give them a legal free access to your harddisk and every single bit of personal information, uncluding personal photos and videos, and so on. A profile image? Oh thanks I can live without a profile image anyway you CANNOT set up a custom profile image neither ingame or here on Forums. The avatars are predefined. So what profile image.
Unless I am badly mistaken, that "e.g" means absolutely nothing. By acknowledging the privacy policy you simply gave them all data on your device. Prove me wrong. Please.

As it is, I rejected (funny thing it is not possible ingame, you have to kill the game from outside) and uninstalled the game. Pity I used to like it but they ask too much.

Think it might have something to do with your steam profile? I know you can link steam up with ESO and login through there.

ZOS already has my credit card info. I'm not overly concerned if they have pictures of me as well if the credit card thing doesn't already bother me.

I suppose it depends on how concerned you are about what you put out there on the internet (and on your home computer).

My profile picture show an kitten.
Some probably find it offensive as its 2020.

Cooperate drones bolting on more armor as it might help against 2020.
Its peak idiocy as this one said some might sue them for damage to self image after getting kicked as fake tank.

No long term issues they start fighting each other, just a shame this one can not farm it for AP.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

@Vyvrhel This absolutely isn’t a blank check to all of the information on your device. You’re reading way too far into it and making logical jumps.

Basically if you set up a ZOS profile, communicate on the forums, or interact with the company in any way then that information can be gathered. They aren’t going through your computer and pulling data.

AFAIK Redshell was removed from ESO a few years ago according to @ZOS_MattFiror.

@Nebthet78, not that I don't think Zenimax isn't tracking all of us in one way or another BUT can you prove new evidence showing Redshell is currently integrated or even a new type of tracker/analytics library in ESO? If not I wouldn't suggest claiming outdated information as current which would greatly help to keep rumors from spreading.

The privacy policy isn't just for ESO, it's for all of the games owned by ZeniMax Media (not to be confused with ZeniMax Online Studios).

I'm shocked. Apparently not too long ago ZOS would listen to feedback, explain the causes of their mistakes, and correct them. Where did that go?

I don't believe a damn thing this company tells me. They may have removed Redshell, but what other program did they replace it with? Or, with the new agreement, will it be making a come back?

If you don't trust anything the company says and believe they're using their products (and presumably website/s) to spy on you why would you keep playing their games or visting their websites?

Seriously, if I thought a company was doing that I'd stay as far away from them as I could, especially if all I got in return was something as trivial as a computer game.

I think it means ZOS really wants my memes. You can have 'em!

This one is probably the most appropriate for the current situation, as most of us will quickly end up at Acceptance of the privacy policy changes.

I use vpns and other certain programs to give out false info to tracking websites ... so I know I'm well protected actually.

    Good point. ^^

I do think we're giving away too much private information online though, and it seems like every online service now requires you to sign some contract ceding it all away or let cookies track our every move online. But I can't argue against your logic that they already have our credit card numbers. So if they wanted to ____ us they already could.

As far as my limited legal knowledge goes the TOS and all the other stuff they make us accept, like acknowledging their privacy policy, is void in court anyway (at least in my country) because it exceeds the maximum length such a text is permitted to have and thus it cannot be expected of the customer to read it and understand it in full.
So if ZOS is making us agree to these things in order to legally spy on us, then they should just do so secretly as the agreement isn't going to protect them anyway should they actually be spying on us. And if it's not going to protect them, what's the point in making us agree to it? To tell us in advance what they are going to do?

So yeah, I think this change of the privacy policy is about something else that's rather harmless and probably involving a bit too much lawyer lingo.

Everyone has a right to an opinion. Personally, apart from an occasional slap on the wrist from a forum moderator (actually I find them humorous), my profile would put an insomniac to sleep. I quit Facebook years ago. Don't Twitter, Twitch, or whatever. I don't break the law, lie, cheat, or steal. So I don't care much. I have more important things to worry about than some leverage to be gained through compilation of data a gaming company has of me. :/
