Stamcro - Respec - Advice Sought...

Hi Guys,

I hope you're all well...

This is my first forum post on ESO, by way of a wee bit of background, I played ESO from release with a soc - then came off the game, only to return for the large expansions (Morrrowind etc.) - But for Elsweyr onwards, I couldn't bring myself back to the game.

I have since returned as it was released on Stadia and I have quickly found my love again, playing a Necro class. It's not perfect, but its enjoyable. For sometime, I played the Mag Necro - but at around 280 CP, I'd lost my love for the game again shortly after farming Lorebooks to get Mages guild to level 10 (unsurprising?).

I have since re-specced as per the recommendations on Alcast to Stamcro and have quickly found a new energy to play using Melee!

However, I'm conscious that my DPS is atrocious - sadly, I can't upload a vid of me attacking a dummy/atro because I'm on Stadia!!

I've outlined some key information below.... I've also linked a screengrab with my stats.

Screenshot-20200831-230441.jpg

Race: High Elf (Really want to switch to Orc!)
Mundus Stone: The Shadow.

My equipment / skills are:

Briarheart Dagger - Main Hand - Powered
Briarheart Axe - Off Hand - Defending
Damage Health Poison IX

Bow of Hundings Rage - 2nd Wep - Wep Damage Enchant (Legend [Leg]) & Infused

Helm & Shoulders of Night Mother's Gaze - Leg Stam Enchants - Divines - Medium

Cuirass of Hundings Rage - Leg Stam Enchants - Divines - Heavy

Belt, Hands, Legs & Shoes of Hundings Rage - Leg Stam Enchants - Divines - Medium

Briarheart Collar & Rings - Leg Wep Damage Enchant - Arcane trait.

1st Wep Setup

Rapid Strikes IV
Whirling Blades IV
Blighted Blast Bones IV
Detonating Siphon IV
Pestilent Colossus (Ult)

2nd Wep Setup

Endless Hail I
Skeletal Archer I
Bitter Harvest II
Resolving Vigor II
Pestilent Colossus (Ult)

As for my CP - I'm at 302 and have used them as per the Alcast 'Reaper' recommendation.

I acknowledge I've missed some abilities from my skill bar - that's because they're 'dead' abilities which I've got there to build up the skill line for the passives  I'm also aware that, for example, on my jewelry, the traits being Arcane are a waste of time. I'm researching the Bloodthirsty trait and intend to switch them at the transmutation station

When the mob gets below 25% - my whirling blades deals anywhere up to 24k damage. However, in absence of that and with all of the diff. DOTs going off with Rapid Strikes and trying my best to weave (albeit, very new concept to me and its taking some getting used too..) - I must be dealing around 18 - 20k DPS - which is appalling.

I'm really wanting to get into end game raids - so any advice would be awesome.

P.S - I'm playing through Stadia and struggle to send a written application to the end-game raiding guilds. Typing with a pad is a nightmare. Any tips on how to get into an end game guild would be most welcome also. I'm playing the PC Megaserver EU.

Thanks again all!

soon to be updated or use the ones you have already been researching...you're on the right track, its a bit of a change for sure from mag to stam but fun as!
Just don't limit yourself to looking at one build...there are heaps out there, gleam from each what works for you! ;)

    That's really re-assuring!

I game with a good friend whose using Mag Soc and claims to be scoring 38k per shot on Crystal Shard (at the time using standard purple equipment and being unaware of game mechanics!?) So was feeling extremely deflated!

Any advice on getting into a raiding guild?

I would not get bloodthirst enchant but would instead use infused. So you can do virtualy no extra damage to an enemy or boss that your fighting for 75% of the time and then for the last 30 seconds of the fight start doing extra damage or you can do extra damage during the whole fight but the choice is yours. Also I would advise against using alcast's and like another poster said to look else where at other builds.

    Hi Vect,

Thanks for that - very helpful.

Can you recommend any other spec out there?

I'll be the first to admit that I went with Alcast as it was the first site that came up on a Google search and he seems to know what he's talking about!!

Also about your trials guild question there a couple ways to go about it. 1 You could just submit your're application and that's what i would do because most trial guilds that i talk to are extremly helpful about helping you with your rotation, gear, and will want to help you make adjustments to get your dps on par with what they are looking for. 2 you are already high enough to start running normal trials so just go to craiglorn and lfg. I always here ppl in chat who are from trial guilds who invite you to to their guild so just be patient and run as many trials as you can to learn the mechanics and you'll eventually meet them. 3 ask in zone chat for a trials guild. Also keep in mind that your dps is fine for cp level. It looks like you could use better gear and i would start running trials. nss, ncr and nhrc should be you're starting points.

When I was new i started with his site for the same reason and don't get me wrong i still use his site pretty regularly to compare builds with other sites to see what their doing but mostly i use his site for the trial guide information. He has some of the best step by step information on every dungeon and trial that i can think of so he very useful there. But as far as other builds I tend to favor Xynode first for my builds but I always compare his against alcast and dottsgaming to see what i want to use and that fits my play style. But to by honest I have found some best information from other veterans who have been on the game for a long time and who are hitting high numbers and they will help me to cater my build. At somepoint look for another Stamcro guildie and ask for their help putting together your build, gear and rotation.

As ever, that's very helpful. Thank you.

I was very conscious about my DPS being quite poor - so thats a relief to hear.

Are you in a trial guild on a PC EU server?

Finally, what is NSS / NCR & NHRC?

    Thanks for your help Victor.

I don't have the luxury of playing on pc unfortunately : ( I am on ps4 na server.

ncr is Cloud rest. The N stands for normal and V stands for vet.

    Nss is Sunspire.

    Nhrc is hell ra citidel.

So when your craiglorn look in zone chat because that's where ppl go to lfg trials.

If you choose to race change, I would recommend Dark Elf or Khajiit (Dark Elf being overall better atm). They have the option of playing either stamina or magicka. Given that you started out as Mag, it wouldn't be crazy if you decided to swap back in the future.

    Thanks so much!

Just mindful that it's an expensive jump to swap... !!

Look at several sites and you'll learn to adapt their build to your play style. I've looked at alcast and gotten some good ideas but for me personally since I mostly solo I probably follow Hack the Minotaur builds closer. You CAN do exact copies but for me that never works. (again, I mostly solo, so my focus isn't straight dps most of the time.) Keep playing with it and you'll find your style. I would recommend as was done earlier a dark elf so you can easily swap back and forth should you get bored.
