Guild Bank Deposits and weekly dues

canuckvirgo
Are there any plans to allow guild members to see their guild bank gold deposits (only)? I and a few of my friends have encountered the issue where you make a gold deposit to a guild bank for weekly dues payment, only to be told that the deposit isn't there.

At the moment, we have no way to prove that our deposits (of gold in this case) actually made it into a given guild's bank.

My solution to that problem was to not join any guilds that require dues.

Thanks, but that doesn't answer the question.

I don't know what guild you're talking about-- and you definitely should not name any names here-- but it almost sounds to me like you're being scammed. There must be a way for the guild masters to see who's depositing what gold, because that's such a common way for guilds to do raffles-- deposit a certain amount for each raffle ticket you want to buy. If they weren't able to tell who deposited gold, and how much gold they deposited, then there'd be no way to say that a given player is supposed to have X number of raffle tickets. Maybe everything's above-board here, but it sure smells fishy to me.

There absolutely is. The guild I am in does weekly raffles. Every 1k guild you deposit buys one raffle ticket. They also do auctions on occasion. When they see your payment then they mail you the items you purchased.

I'd change guilds. And I'd seriously consider reporting them.

There's an old and rather well-known bug where if you are hasty with guild bank deposit, whether tems or gold, deposit won't register. The only workaround I know is to wait a bit between opening bank and deposit and then a bit before closing.

To clarify, the deposit doesn't go through at all, or it just doesn't register that it did?

If the problem is the deposit isn't going through at all, you could test this by noting how much gold you have on before you make the deposit, and how much you have after. If it went through you will see a deduction, if it didn't you won't.

I know that when I'm depositing or withdrawing items in a guild bank, I watch the numbers that show how many items are in my bank account and how many items are in the guild's bank account, because yes, there can be a pause, and it sometimes takes several seconds for the numbers to change. If you try to deposit another item but the previous item hasn't finished being processed yet, you get that "waiting on previous request" message or whatever the exact wording is. If you watch the number of items in the bank, you can see when it goes up by 1, so I always pay close attention to that before trying to make another deposit.

As far as gold deposits, some guilds set things so you can't see how much gold is in the guild's account, in which casebI'm not sure how you're supposed to tell that your gold deposit went through.

Money leave you, but don't get to the guild bank. You see the deduction, but bank takes too long to update on it's side and doesn't "receive" anything if you close it too soon. Something like this

Yes, that's part of the problem. We can't see our own guild bank deposits so it's not possible to know if the gold/item actually made it to the bank (or not). Then it becomes your word against the guild bank record that the transaction actually happened.

Yes, to answer someone's earlier question, I do see the gold leave my balance and I do see the message saying it was deposited.

Really what I am asking ZOS to do is to make a setting that allows a player to see his/her own deposits to guild banks, which should have nothing to do with seeing guild bank contents/gold.

I thought the option was already there, but that seems to be for items and not gold.

Well that option is there to see all deposits (meaning everyone in the guild who deposited something), but what I'm saying is that we should have an option to see only your current player's deposits (e.g. View My Deposits).

This is definitely a great idea. As a GM to several guilds, this is something that I, and I imagine most GM too, will welcome wholeheartedly. It is very distressing for a lot of guildies, especially the new ones, to deposit into the guild bank but not knowing if it did go through or not. Sometimes, they don't even realize that they have deposited it into a different guild bank by mistake and there is no way for them to check. I hope ZOS will consider this issue and this solution. Cheers!

you should be able to check the guild's bank/deposit history in one of the tabs. that's also how people usually learn of someone emptying their guild bank.
Shortly after the formation of the Ebonheart Pact, a Nord woman was given a tour of the Tribunal Temple. When later asked about the experience, she seemed upset. Suffice to say, the Dunmer were not pleased to hear this, and thus they inquired further.
"Well," the Nord frowned, "the priests were very angry and unwelcoming. They kept shouting things at me like "you can't drink that mead in here!" and "somebody stop her, she's running naked!" and "we can't catch her; she's covered in grease!""

Not sure if it's a steam account feature. But when I send or deposit weekly dues to my trader guilds it tells me in chat window. It doesn't say the name of the guild or recipient tho.

You are probably running LUI, it has a very robust event to chat feature built in, it can put pretty much everything in chat for you if you wish. I use it and find it really handy, especially when sending/receiving gold or items in emails... or making bank deposits.

BTW, for those who went straight to "crooked guild masters", sheesh. The issue with exporting guild history is well know and been around forever it seems. Do you really think the GM sits there scrolling through thousands of records, pencil and paper in hand writing down deposits? No, we export the history via one tool or another that accesses the extremely glitchy API and puts it into a spreadsheet for us. It is not unheard of that the resulting export is not complete or 100% accurate, generally because of the query limits ZOS imposes on querying the guild history. Any player that uses MM, ATT, or any other tool to visualize guild history events, knows this very well.

As for the OP, I agree 100%, a guild member should have full access to see their own gold deposits.
