Is this because of the internet outage that is preventing some people from getting to the ESO servers?

Have you read through their Terms Of Service (TOS) regarding compensation and liability? Have you even submitted a ticket? Posting here publicly on the forums about things like this probably wont solve much tbh. :|

Actually I forgot to cancel my WoW subscription when I was not playing it anymore, 1hour later canceled subscription after I saw my credit card charged and asked for a refund and week later got my 65 euros back.

That's one experience I had so far with refunds in MMO, don't know how ESO zenimax would handle it.

It’s not a ZOS problem. Many of the applications I use are not working right now. Reddit isn’t working. Twitch isn’t working. Imgur isn’t working. Origin isn’t working. I don’t play ESO anymore, but I have a feeling it wouldn’t be working for me either — and I don’t just mean in terms of in-game performance.

This forum, funnily enough, is one of the few things that IS working for me right now. :D

Get real, this is not ZOS problem, it's worldwide problem with many many affected domains and apps. Even local domains. I am from Czech Republic and I CAN'T get with my broadband ISP to local shop domains! Funny thing is, that i switch the provider to the mobile operator, i don't have any problem... but FUP :dizzy:

If, at any time during the 24 hours in question, players were able to log into the game, the game was available for players on that day. People are logging into the servers and playing around the clock. Just because it is not available when Player X wants to play does not warrant a refund or compensation.

This is the measurement I would use, if I was them. Otherwise, ZOS is giving refunds and compensation for any reason under the Sun, from "inconvenient patch times" to "my girlfriend didn't let me play, so I am going to claim I could not access the servers."

I realize that is not going to be the popular answer, but it is the only one that makes sense.

Will not be popular for some, but it is the correct answer. If the game/service is actively provisioned and available, regardless of the individual's inability to access it, there is no onus on the service provider. If the issue is a total lack of provision or inaccessiblity due a failure in the hosting of the service itself, that's a different matter.

I'd rather be compensated for being swindled into purchasing a month of ESO plus because I thought U27 may be different from U25 or U26. The PTS ran well.. Instead I have a new issue I've never had with any game on my PC where my FPS continuously drops to 25% of what I normally got before the update. I'm talking 10-20fps in openworld pve zones after 5-10 minutes, starting at 80+ fps.

Shame on me for thinking the game may actually be playable? I could care less about a server outage for a few hours, it happens, but when I actually get on I'd like to have a game that doesn't make my computer feel like it's 20 years old.

Again, shame on me for continuing to fund this game every update, only to quit about a week into an update because I refuse to play a broken product.

Just to rule it out, @MashmalloMan ... have you tried disabling out-of-date add-ons?

Add-ons in general can cause FPS drop ... but the ones not updated for the patch are the biggest culprits.

Yeeeeep. I'm going to end up posting a video, haven't seen anyone mention this issue.

First few days of the udpate, game ran fine, ran well. I have a full set of UT.

As of August 28th, this issue started. Ridiculous.

Disabling add-ons was a good suggestion. The #1 culprit for FPS issues is always something on the client, and add-ons are key to that.

If it happened days after the Update, that is actually interesting, as nothing has changed for the game client.

The fact that others are not talking about this, and there is no game client change, and add-ons are not a problem, makes me worried about the stability locally.

What about other games that run at high FPS? Any changes there?

And this is why your basically just better off quitting if your that p****d off with a game/company because your not going to get anywhere at the end of the day, throwing stones at a castle.

If players started mass unsubbing or quitting then Zos would sit up and listen but until then they honestly don't really care. It's a buisness and they only care about $$$$

Sad but True (as mettalica would say) :)

Here's some quotes from my last support ticket regarding my Xbox EU cp 1575 account:

me: "I've had multiple tickets already and the last ticket expired over 10 months ago, that ticket was about all the stuff I've missed and for some plan so I could keep on playing and paying, I didn't get any clear answers then. Also the Elsweyr chapter preorder items I asked if I'd get them after the launch if I'd buy the chapter later on, support told it should work then, later after I bought the chapter support told the issue should be forwarded to the specialized team again."

support: "As for your missing items from ten months ago , the most we can do due to the response time is ask for a list of items so we may look back at the past few months."

me: "Here's some listing of my monumental misses during the past 17 months:

All the daily rewards and additional costumes, statuettes, mounts and pets whenever possible to get, I have probably missed collecting only few daily rewards before Wrathstone.

All the event tickets, which there have been probably hundreds during all the events past 17 months, I was curious but simply didn't want to count them, 1 event ticket costs 250 crowns so I've missed easily worth few notable houses in crowns. Also all the additional rewards related to the events. I played during every event before Wrathstone and didn't miss too many tickets.

All the daily writs with 15 max level characters, typical daily writ round was worth over 30k gold and all the materials and possible master writs.

All 15 characters have many max level hirelings, the total amount of missed materials during 17 months is obviously quite huge and expensive."

Then comes the basic troubleshoot and ports list with comments.

support: "I understand that you are still experiencing connectivity issues in the Elder Scrolls, and that you are requesting compensation for time lost due to your inability to connect to the Elder Scrolls Online EU megaserver on Xbox One.

Please also be aware that we do not compensate for downtime due to technical issues.

Thank you for your continued interest and support!"

Other community manager doesn't bother responding to my message either and some support person cannot quite read correctly or most likely simply intentionally understands wrong so this funny frustration play with endless counterquestions keeps on going. I've played on Xbox NA cp 1282 account over a year while EU account has been completely stuck and paid for ESO+ during that time. Now taking all this information into account, take a wild guess how much you'll get compensated for under a day worth downtime?

No offense but a large internet outage happened affecting a number of services and OP feels Zos should reimburse us as a result.

I am pretty sure there is a force majeure in the agreement we have all agreed to that pretty much takes care of this since this outage is very much beyond Zos' control. So Zos will not provide a refund and has no reason to even consider it. If OP wants compensation then they need to talk with CenturyLink though I am pretty sure there would still be no legal leg to stand on.

I personally think reimbursement isn't the real issue here, it's really just an outlet to vent frustration paying for a product that is always unreliable--even if it is "just $15". We can bash each other and laugh at "oh, you want your $2 worth of reimbursement lolololol" BUT At the end of the day, players are so used to the constant problems with ESO when literally *anything* goes wrong with it the first thought is "oh great, another issue with this game". Personally, I also try to see the other side of the coin for OP here too. Again, we all deal with CONSTANT issues that plague ESO, a game that all love but are fed up with frustration that we can't enjoy it like we should be able to. Nothing is perfect and issues are to be expected but certainly not at the consistent rate they are. This is especially true after 6 years of development and counting. FWIW, maybe if ZoS didn't have such a bad reputation and such little trust from their playerbase, the first assumption wouldn't always be to blame them if they could actually depend on their product. Just my 2¢.

Its an investment (your money) and the return is fun. Now if your return isn't up to standards, then cut off your investment.
ESO+ doesnt give special access to the server, it gives a few perks while in the game. Full stop.

If it was still at the pay-to-play model, you might have an argument, not anymore.

Nor frankly are you entitled to missed opportunities; IE tickets, dailies, login rewards etc ad naseum.

Maybe it time to review your investments and cut accordingly. As the old saying goes, money talks and cowpatties walk.
