Creative staff at zos, please come up with more creative names for zones that are not tied to their geographic location, e.g Northern/southern/western xyz... Base game zones are more creative and fun, lore based.

    In case of Skyrim there are several holds in one zone, so I'm not sure there could be different name.
    Elsweyr zones could be Pellitine and Anequina, but that would confuse that very special part of playerbase who are too dumb to even find Blackreach, I guess :(

    I generally agree, but isn't Western Skyrim the official name of King Svargrim's kingdom?

    I always wondered why they didn't name them correctly.

    I really doubt that this can be true. No one can be so ignorant.

    I could believe that maybe a handful of people could have missed Blackreach. A few. But so many that it really has any relevance?!

    Ok so let's rename the Valenwood zones then:

    Grahtwood -> Southeastern Valenwood
    Greenshade -> Southwestern Valenwood
    Malabal Tor -> Northwestern Valenwood
    Reaper's March -> Northeastern Valenwood & Northwestern Elsweyr.

    How's that?😜

    Well, according to Rich Lambert in his most recent interview they are not going to make more underground stuff like in Greymoor in future chapters because a lot of people were confused about the size of Greymoor and didn't actually find Blackreach...

    @Sylvermynx Some of the Daedric ruins have names worse than Dwemer ruins. They may not have a lot of consonants but they are still a pain to read and repeat.

    Addadshashanammu. Ashalmimilkala. Ashurnibibi. Ashurnabitashpi.

    It is a matter than Zos is bringing us Skyrim, but in pieces. It makes more sense to call the northern area of Skyrim Northern Skyrim than make up a new name for it.

    And thats why about the first 3 letters get pronounced and then it devolves into swearing and cardinal directions or nearest landmark for reference.

    Daedric and Dwemer places. Like the public dungeon south east of the volcano.

    Funny thing, there's an old costume from Wild Hunt Crown crates named "West Skyrim Scout Outfit" and its' description says that Western Skyrim is Haafingar, Whiterun, and Falkreath holds. :D

    I just love they kept the same Colors between that costume and the Solitude guards' motif.

    I find Daedric ruin names easy, actually. They're long, but they have clear syllables that are easy to pronounce. Dwemer names on the other hand...

    I've seen it. But it's hard to believe. Also I'm wondering where they did get the info from? I've seen people stating here in the forum that they find the Greymoor storyline short and the map(s) rather small, yes. But I didn't have the impression that any of those people missed Blackreach.

    Terrible. Doesn't change that King Svargrims kingdom is indeed called Western Skyrim. In that case it's the region's name.

    Yup.

    I also would not mind if they were;

    Elsweyr, Northern
    Elsweyr, Southern

    But I think I would have preferred Pellitine and Anequina.

    Perhaps that's because of Anequina and Pellitine of 4th Era that were 2 kingdoms, and here was necessary to show that province isn't split? 🤔

    To quote myself from another thread:

    Daedric ruin and Ashlander names: Sumerian, Assyrian and other Mesopotamic languages. There was a Assyrian King with the name Aššur-bāni-apli (sometimes shortened to Assurbanipal...). His son was Aššur-aḫḫe-iddinas. In ancient Sumeria, there were places like the temple of Eninnu, Zabalam, or Tel Agreb and Tel Asma (Tel meaning "hill"), you have people's names like Kudur-Mabuk, Nammu, Asarualimnunna or Ningirsu.

    So, yeah, that's obviously the inspiration for those names.
