32-bit launcher...does it affect game performance?

i was reading about this, but don't know if it's true. i hadn't noticed until yesterday, after playing for over a year, that the launcher opens in 32-bit. i can't open from eso64.exe because i'm a steam user and i can't log in. does it matter that the launcher is 32-bit?

IF you have the option, you always want to run whatever your PC OS is designed for. So if you have a 64 bit, whenever possible, you download the 64 bit game/launcher/whatever.

IN GENERAL, A 64 will run a 32 bit program. A 32 will not run a 64 bit program.

There's always exceptions, but pretty much most stuff follows this guideline

yeah i have a 64-bit OS. how do i download the 64-bit launcher? should i delete the 32-bit one? i don't remember having the choice when i first installed it, but maybe i just missed it

Those are two diferent executables, doesnt matter if the launcher is a 32 bit process or not, because the one that run the game is eso64.exe.
AFAIK there's no '64 bit launcher', and even if it exists, it will not change anything.
The launcher is just a helper app that update/patch/show news/repair corrupted installations/execute other apps (AKA launcher)

Imagine that 'eso64.exe' is facebook and 'the launcher' is google.
Facebook will work the same exact way, either if you enter thru google or yahoo or direct url.
