Group BGs coming back?

Apparently on the Bethesda DE channel there was a Q/A session with @ZOS_RichLambert ,
and he said group queues are coming back.

Im suprised the q/a session wasnt posted on the forums yet.

Should also add, that this is the second q/a session that was kind of under the radar.

It would be nice to have more of these, with a chance for a bigger part of the community to participate.

This means that most likely they will add separate queue for groups & separate queue for solo players, so they would not fight each other, but premeds will fight other premades etc.

Cyrodil is fun situationaly, but there is just too much travel between fights a lot of the time. but at the same time, not TOO hopeful. "careful what you wish for" seems to be modus operandi for changes lately.

That reply did kinda sound they've implemented separate queues. There's no other way to bring it back without paving another long road of complaints. If they bring back group queue only, they'll lose another batch of players who cannot/will not play the only enjoyable/available solo pvp mode.

Rich Lambert said this himself in the past ... but maybe ZOS has figured out a way without alienating the solo players who were always up against the pre-mades.

Let's hope BGs are going to see some love, with new incentives to bring in enough players to make a group BG queue actually work.

Exactly this. People keep looking at it with too narrow a lense. I'm not going to harp on too much as I've said all I need to say in several threads. There are so many possibilities and options for ZOS to explore that can expand and improve the BG experience for solo players and groups; the only thing lacking is imagination.

As for not enough players, the argument people kept touting was ZOS have the numbers and that's why solo queues will stay... So maybe ZOS have revisted the numbers, and if the wisdom gleaned from them previously was solo is best and we had to accept that blindly, can we also accept that now ZOS aparently think differently?

What does this ambiguous "sooner then people expecting" suppose to mean. Why not say simply "next update".

I for one have really enjoyed solo-queueing for BGs, as all my friends have stopped playing ESO. I know I should too, lol, but hey..

But what if solo BGs stayed like they are as no-cp, with the addition of group BGs with CP enabled? And that players could solo queue for group BGs - on their own risk

Would it be viable, or just a complete horror mess?

ZOS will never get rid of complaints, not just ZOS, but any game developer ever. There is QQ in every game ever made no matter how good or how bad and most of the time in MMO’s the dev just creates the vision they see and ignore the QQ which in most circumstances is the right thing to do. The only crying that the devs should listen to is reasonable and welcome constructive criticism on actual issues. Solo Q’s were NOT one of them. I am so glad they’re bringing back team q’s and I hope it won’t be separate because I am truly sick of the solo meta in group content - play as a team or don’t play at all!

I played BG from their launch, took a break when they went CP as that was whack. And just see how many players have stopped since this change.

Sure folks hated playing a pre made solo with a bad PUG but you always had the chance of getting a team together

Add group queues
Add a league and leaderboard, register your team.
I'd happily queue for a better ranked match that means something.

Also how many Tanks and Healers have had to drop as they have way less value in a. Pug

It would be awful if they allowed CP in battlegrounds... You don't run into high health/high resistance builds as often in no CP as you do in CP. Yesterday, in CP Cyrodiil, an entire zerg was trying to deal with a necro sitting at 100k+ health in his transformed form. No way you see those crazy numbers in no CP.

If there is, i wouldnt advertise it on the public forums for everyone to see.

Also most ppl just coordinate queue together at the same time and hope to get into the same team, its not guaranteed.

I remember the times when I had to wait an hour for Battlegrounds after coming home from a long day. Terrible and fond memories of the state of the game. I would watch Battlegrounds streamers while waiting for a queue pop, only to find out that they were also waiting for a Battlegrounds queue pop. Since the MMR reset and solo queue release, I don't get 20 min + queues anymore. If only they could fix their queue, balance, and performance problems more effectively...

I hate CP because it encourages even more unfair play (I'm above 1000CP) so don't add it to BGs unless you create a custom PvP lobby where players can set rules.

i feel like bgs lost people with the removal of groups

and pre mades destroying Randoms i dont think was a issue that went away yeah no groups but still 1 team that works as a group still destroys all other teams on a regular basis still happens like this morning did a tdm and my team won with the score being 510 with the other teams at 30. aslo when the removal of groups healer vanished in bg's

Man i really hope they re introduce group queueing for BG's. Who cares if you get put into a game of premades... keep the solo queue. Why not let the people that thirst for calculated bgs be pit against other like minded people.... c'mon!

People saying premades going up against pugs was not a thing or not a big deal must not of played very many BGs when there was group queuing.

Pre-made groups stomped all over pugs all the time. Solo players left bg matches regularly because it was pointless to play the spawn, die just outside your spawn point and respawn game. I personally came back to the game and actually enjoyed BGs again because of the solo que and also have way more competitive matches than I ever did before. Bring back group que for the pre-mades only so they can fight and measure one another and leave solo ques as is.
