Venomous Smite - damage types bugged. *edit

The initial proc of this set deals DAMAGE OVER TIME on the initial target, but the AoE splash damage counts as DIRECT damage if it hits other enemies, which forces you out of sneak/stealth, essentially punishing you for getting the most effective use out of this set. The text of the damage ticks appears as orange which suggests damage over time but it breaks sneak as if it's a direct damage hit.

If it's damage over time on the initial target, it should count as damage over time on ALL targets, as the proc effect itself hasn't changed.

To top that off, PETS will continue to track you into stealth and sneak, including through walls and around corners making line of sight blocking worthless as the pets just follow you around and lead everyone right to you. Pets (including Daedroth from Maw of the Infernal) should NOT be able to track targets the player who summoned them can't even SEE.

Found it. Tested 2 DoT proc sets, 1 doesn't force me out of stealth/sneak, the other DOES.

It's the VENOMOUS SMITE set. The AoE DoT poison must be counting as DIRECT damage when it should clearly be a DoT set.

Further testing - the set effect DOESN'T break sneak when used on a single target, but if the AoE effect hits a DIFFERENT target it DOES. This clearly shouldn't be applying as a DoT to the initial target but DIRECT damage to other targets...

And if it's not, because tooltips, text colours and damage types in this game are all over the place then a change in text colour or something would be helpful...

It'll be the aoe as the aoe isn't a dot per say but simply hits people once every second or 2 like overwhelming surge. Use sheer venom or pillar of nirn.

It's the AoE but it's counting as a DoT on the initial target but DIRECT damage on people hit by the AoE splash - that's clearly scuffed as it's the SAME damage from the same set on the same proc (and all the text is orange which SHOULD mean DoT)...
