I'm glad they're taking a look at this! Thank you for proving me wrong! Any idea when the next incremental on console is going to be? (I assume this will happen after the Sep 1 patch.) I want to gift this to a friend but it seems like a silly gift if I have to say "but you have to wait who knows how long for the staff to work." lol

Sadly not... I assumed that the picture would be what you got... but it's not. Not even close.

Which tbh is a pretty clear cut case of false advertising & am pretty hacked off tbh as I always loved that staff style and really wanted it

So normally I don't get the complaints with this.


However I bought this arms pack and it is pretty annoying there is glow when you have the weapon "sheathed" or in the cast of the staff on your back. Then during combat it turns if you change your weapon, which obivously people do all the time. You only get it back by switching weapons after combat, but then it does it again once you enter combat again.

So yeah it's a bit annoying.

In some unknown cases any weapon effects can completely disappear (Particles are full, see wolf eyes for example)

I'm sorry, but they do this with every single arms pack. It isn't false advertising because you can literally preview the product your about to purchase before you purchase it.

The picture of the boss for the related dungeon is not entirely reflective of the equipment obtained for the 5 weapon styles and is used to advertise the current dungeon event to obtain the head/shoulder styles too.

In this case, the boss does carry a staff, but most bosses don't carry any of the weapons that your character gets to hold. The look, feel, glow and effects of the equipment is up to ZOS and what they're aiming for on that product.

The effects look very Necromancer inspired with the purple/cyan glow and I very much enjoy it, you can choose to be against their artistic vision for this product, I understand why, but I wouldn't say this is false advertising, not even close.

Yes, thank the nines this was a such HUGE priority to fix yet another overpriced cosmetic item for sale in the Crown Store over literally every other issue with the current Stonethorn patch still existing. Nothing was fixed yet issues are always "we are aware and are working on a fix" --- one that will never come or make things worse. Yet even more issues piling up on top of ESO's endless mountain of issues.

Finally, after the exceedingly painful wait of two weeks we can finally have glowy light effects on all of our weapons. Definitely will be seeing many players standing still, doing nothing with weapons out near enclaves and wayshrines displaying the "hey look what I bought" flash to other players until the next hot item pops up in the store. Exciting times indeed.

It might seem trivial but it does add a lot to the look of the character. (Also since we spent over 2000 crowns for it yeah it was kind of a priority to have it working properly.) Thank you for fixing it.

Indeed. Nerien’eth effect on dagger and shield with the Molten Weapons glow is the coolest particle effect I have seen in the game.

Some confusion about the terms here. It would have been a little more clear to call the issue about it's 'Luminosity" as that's the problem with the lighting you were having, or rather the lack of lighting. And the aura on the weapon itself on that 2H weapon does look a bit.. stubby.. I'd agree with that.

I get what you mean. I really do. But it's not a very good argument when other major problems exist for over 6 years. It is trivial as you say, and by saying how important it was to have for your character, you do make it clear that you recognize how important it is to get what you pay for. Many, many players PAY a $15 monthly ESO sub, many buy DLC and Chapters, and every one of us paid for the game initially. The game has has endless issues since release. When does that get fixed? When do words the company promise to every player become actions? The game in many ways still feels like it did in beta, some areas even worse! What does that say about the company priority? Surely luminosity effects on yet another cosmetic microtransaction that have zero affect on playability in any way shouldn't take top priority. It's only logical to do so IF your only concern is making a quick buck. Quantity over quality again and again is vicariously done at the players expense!

With that said, I'm glad at least some players are getting timely resolve for yet another thing that was broke in ESO with the weapon pack quick fix. It's not just this one thing that was frustrating but everything else as a whole creating a rift in the game and the pattern of this habitually resonates throughout the entire game. Crown Store purchases are a choice we make and something we can preview before doing so, selling a broken and malfunctioning game advertised as working is the choice of the developer and is not obvious until after the player buys it. There are two words that describe what that is. More players are frustrated than not, just browse through this forum for an hour...and that is just a fraction of the ones who make up the playerbase. I almost bought the arms pack myself but I noticed the lighting issue while previewing. The staff doesn't even touch the ground and sits high on the back of a character (which still isn't fixed btw). The advertised staff in the picture is completely different from what we receive. Deal breaker for me, so I passed on it.

In the end, all of these fancy cosmetics and other things they sell as priority don't mean much when they simply disappear if the game loses the most important aspect:

The player.

At least the company profited the whole time by letting all of us pay as a result for their actions. It's not their loss at that point, it's ours. It's just business as usual.
