What is an effective way for a solo player to lvl to 50?

Hello,

I am currently trying to lvl a khajiit stamblade to 50 so I can farm mats and perhaps steal stuff to make money in the future. I prefer to play solo because I just like doing things at my own pace and when I have time. So my question is, what is an effective way to just powerlevel to 50?

Thank you in advance

    - Skyreach (with a partner) or Spellscar in Craglorn

    - Dolmens

    - Public Dungeons (added bonus is they are generous with skill points and skyshards)

    - Imperial City

    - Any of the above with crafted Training gear.

    - Any of the above with stacked XP scrolls/ambrosia (be sure to swap out fully leveled skills regularly).

Quests are really not that good for XP gain ... unless you've done them before or are OK with skipping the entire dialogue (not recommended due to the good storylines ESO has).

I do the original main storyline and then the storyline going through the base game zones. This is decent XP and provides skill points. Towards the end, I will do some PvP because I want to get the skill AvA skills for healing and tanking and I like PvP.

The daily random dungeon can help speed things up but I am looking for skill points when I level and I will end up getting the dungeon skill points anyhow.

I do dolmens until around level 25, then start the Cold Harbour main quest. Lots of XP and skill points. Then Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild, then Psijic, then Mages Guild. That takes care of extra skill lines and points.

Well I start of with Psijic and Mages Guild while Skyshard hunting -- no use having a max level char without skill points. But if you only intend to use the character for limited activities, you probably don't need those skilllines or the skillpoints. In that case the more grind-based activities (Dolmen, Spellscar, Skyreach, Zombies, Public Dungeons,...) may honestly be better for you.
If you're comfortable solo-ing normal dungeons, I do usually do those as I unlock them for the quest + skillpoint -- can't judge how worth that is time-wise as a solo player. The daily random dungeon bonus is honestly a big plus, so you miss that I'm solo-play.

If you intend to do a lot of crime with the character, definitely do Thieves Guild abd Dark Brotherhood. Pop EXP scrolls for everything.

If you want effectiveness you'll have to endure boredom -> grind grind grind the highest xp/hour yielding methods. Certain locations has fast respawning of very easily herdable and squishy mobs that has not had their xp yeild nerfed yet. It's very boring though, very repetitive. BUT if you are only looking to get to lvl50 this can be done in a few hours using scrolls or xp pots for +150% xp. Add 10% for ESO plus. A few hours of highly concentrated boredom may be worth the result.

If you are ok with FAR FAR FAR less effectiveness you could also try to play the game in a varied way, complete quests, run dungeons etc.

Just running around doing delves and public dungeons getting skyshards give pretty decent xp and you need them anyway.
Do dolmens on opportunity but be sure to do them at least once as the first time give lots of xp.

Now random dungeons and BG once a day gives lots of XP but is group content, dungeon with quest tend to be two levels with +50% xp boost, you can queue while farming skyshard.

Wear training gear and use xp potion or scroll.

Do the TG and DB quest lines as it looks like you will need them anyway, not the best xp source but no reason not to do it while leveling.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

    All the above.
FYI - There is no such thing as 'night capping' in a world wide MMO.
FYI - There was no paid Beta. When they launched the game the Beta was over, even if you don't think it was.
    FYI - It's B2P not F2P. There is a difference.
FYI - It doesn't take any player skill to mash keys or buttons in this game. The ones that stay alive longer have the better internet connection and speed.
FYI - The game is not broken, it still works. It just has 'bugs' that need to be fixed.
    Balance is a "Bad" thing.

Example: There were hundreds of Jedi and only two Sith in Star Wars. The Jedi wanted, "Balance in the Force" and they got it. Now there are only two Jedi and two Sith.

    Balance is a "Bad" thing.

The fastest way I found is to just play the game as intended. Do your zone quests using the daily rewards and you get there pretty fast without being bored of repeating something like you would with grinding. That's what works for me and I have to make sure I'm not doing the same zones with later characters. That's pretty boring too.

Getting your CP up is the real challenge.

The same way you level ALL your toons to 50 EFFICIENTLY.

First, do NOT grind Skyreach or run dolmens in circles until your eyes bleed. Your goal is to get to level 50 with as many skill lines and skill points unlocked as possible.

    1. Go to whatever starter city you start in(Davon's Watch in EP) and immediatley join the Mages Guild, the Fighters Guild and Undaunted. This is your first stop....do the quests if you like, or ignore them, just make sure you join.
    2. Go to Summerset and play the main story questline up until you go to Artaeum and are able to unlock the Psijiic brotherhood questline...this is the only questline that is mandatory.
    3. Stop and download Skyshard and Lorebooks add-ons if you are on PC(if on console, you will have to make do with referencing maps endlessly).
    4. Simply start collecting all the Skyshards and Lorebooks you can access, STARTING with the zones that the Psijiic questline takes you to...while you are in those zones, your goal is to close all the rifts, grab all the skyshards, and all the lorebooks. Since you leveling a new character you should have experience scrolls going and take all the delve quests as you grab the skyshards.
    5. When you get bored with the rifts/skyshards/lorebooks take a break and run a normal dungeon...this will help to level fighters guild skill line and get you a skill point...running a random dungeon will help level undaunted skill line(if you arent lvl45 you don't have access to pledges, but there is a daily non-pledge quest you may be able to take as well that will help level undaunted too)
    6. By the time you finish the Psijiic Questline, and get enough Lorebooks to get Mage's Guild to 10, and enough skyshards for whatever build, you WILL be level 50...might take you a couple days, but your character will be reasonably developed with enough skill points by the time you get there

Depends if and how much gold you're willing to spare. Doing approx. 140-150 alchemy/enchanting master writs (with 150% pot and without event buff) will get you from 1 to 50. With the Writ Worthy addon you'll be fully levelled in 15-20 mins. The main issue is supply, the alchemy ones tend to be in small numbers and high prices at vendors, but you shouldn't have any issues amassing that many enchanting ones (check all guild stores, not just the main location ones).

Edit: if you're struggling finding that many, you can spend 1 hour doing dolmens (it'll get you from 1 to 20-21), then approx. 85-90 writs will get you to 48 and you can finish off with a random normal to get to 50 (~1h 30m total time).

I've never bothered to grind levels. Doing the original story, plus Cadwell's Silver, plus Cadwell's Gold pretty much takes care of everything.

Keep in mind, if you're simply grinding levels; the mats you find will be 50/50 with the crafting skill and your character level. If you grind to 50 and don't level your crafting skill, you'll find rubedite/rubedo/ancestor, and iron/rawhide/jute.

All my alts load up a bunch of AOE spells and run the Alik’r dolmens. It’s a pretty fast grind if you can get maximum kill credit.

It will, however, be less effective now that Rapids are gated behind extensive PvP content. You run the risk of arriving at the dolmen when most stuff has already been killed when you are slow.

I power level in public dungeons. With XP scroll it is far more efficient than random group dungeons (except for the 1st one).

Remember training gear and XP scroll.

My skills and levels go up so fast.

    Low level: Delves
Medium level progress to base game public dungeons
near max go to DLC public dungeons

I just typed this out on another thread with basically the same question. I will copy/paste. I have power leveled a toon about a dozen times at this point. I can only handle the main quest so many times. haha

"I have 18 Level 50 toons, 3 of each class, for whatever that is worth.

Until recently (It was deconed in the great spring cleaning event of 2020), I had a full set of Magic and Stamina training gear. Magic gear was Julianos and Magnus (lighting/fire staffs), Stam was Hundings and Night mothers (DW/Bow). It was at level 4, 10, 20, 30, 40. All my training gear is 5/1/1 to ensure I am leveling all my armor lines.

Step one on making a new character (skip tutorial and start at Lvl3) was to simply start porting to all the major capital cities from my guild friends list. This gets you to level 4 pretty fast. I then max out the bag space, start feeding my horse, and grab the mages/fighters guild lines. I throw on the level 4 gear and usually go to dolmens until about level 10. Some classes can go straight to grinding with their early skills, but this assures that you have a few skills on your bars* just by tagging along at some dolmens. I also grab the recovery mundus at this point for my main attribute, and make sure I have a stack of trash pots, XP scrolls/potions, and some regen food (witchmothers for example). Oh yeah, and spend your CP (I always forgot that part for a few levels).

*sidenote on Bars: I ALWAYS keep one class skill from each line on my front bar to ensure they all level. I also typically keep a skill for the obvious back bar weapon line (cant use but does gain weaponline XP) and one skill for another weapon (2H, Resto, S+B) etc. I might be a little flexible until I unlock bar swapping, but I try to be strict about this. Once a skill hits morph, I move to the next in line. My goal is to have all class skills and at least 2 weapons lines leveled to morph and as close to 50 as possible by the time I hit 50.

At level 10, I grab rapids in Cyro (RIP), and put on my level 10 gear.

I then go to one of a handful of zombie grinds (zombie's level fighters guild). I can usually get to about 30 in a few hours. Skyreach is also useful if you have a buddy, but I don't pay for carries. Early in the grinding, i am sure to quickly equip a trash weapon I pick up from all the lines and kill something, this unlocks them so I can start leveling those lines passively.

Once I hit 30, I respec my skills typically and quickly power level alchemy and provisioning. Takes maybe 15 minutes if you know what you are doing. I do it then because sometimes you can have a skill point crunch about this point and need to respec anyway if you really are unlocking everything to ensure you level all class lines and applicable weapon lines. I try to spend passives in racial, light/medium armor, and destro/DW, depending on whether its magic or stam. I will spend in obvious class passives, but you really dont need to. Once I power level those two lines, I respec again, and go back to grinding.

I will typically start to queue for random normals at this point (the pool is pretty small) while I grind. If the queue pops, I do the dungeon, because it gives a skill point and some good XP, especially the first of the day. By level 30, you have enough skills to form a basic dungeon build. I will sometimes jump into normal VMA if I am bored, but usually not. It's honestly not super efficient, but it is better than a really crowded grind spot.

I swap gear again at 40, and continue to grind until I hit 50. At 50, I always go straight to VMA, mostly for the title, but also to get a feel for the class.

For most magic classes, all I use to grind are 2 ground dots (blockade and one from the class) and lighting heavy attacks. For stamina, it's mostly hail and Steel Tornado. I will of course backbar good class utility skills like Crit Surge, repentence, Siphoning strikes, just to name a few (really anything that helps with passive heals, damage, or resources). I will certainly also use good grind skills like Sap essence or Sweeps, depending on class.

During double XP, you can have a pretty well rounded toon in about 5-6 hours with this method. Most class/weapon lines should be at 50 or really close, and all your useful skills should be at least at morph. You will be light on skill points if you havent spent some time getting shards (or buy them), but you should have enough for either a basic build or to park the toon for crafting writs. On a stam toon, i would normally jump into cyro at that point to get vigor/Caltrops.

I then typically start the undaunted grind in vet dungeons, and decide what guild skill lines I also need. If you are going to buy any, psijic and mages are the obvious two as they are a nightmare."
