Best Mundus Stone After The Patch

So, what's the best mundus stone after the patch? Alcast, Xynode, Hack and Dottz all used the shadow as their mundus stone before the patch. Is that still a good idea?
The fact that the divines enchant got an increase shouldn't matter, since it applies to all mundus stones equally. So far I like the Thief. The only issue I see is the chance of the crit chance reaching 100% and getting all gains capped.
Mundus Stones
The Atronach and The Serpent: Increased the recovery bonus granted to 310, up from 238.
The Mage and The Tower: Decreased the maximum resource granted to 2023, down from 2028.
The Lord: Decreased the Max Health granted to 2225, down from 2230.
The Lady and The Lover: Decreased the Armor and Armor Penetration granted to 2744, down from 2752.
The Thief: Increased the Critical Strike rating granted to 1537, up from 1533.
The Ritual: Decreased the Healing Done granted to 8%, down from 10%.
The Shadow: Now grants 11% Critical Damage and Healing, rather than 13% Critical Damage.

It's only 2 percent nerf to Shadow so it shouldn't be too bad but problems with Vamp and bfb Atronach might get more uses idk tho Thief seems to be a good choice.

In pvp serpent and atronarch + weapon or spell damage enchants will be best now because they give more recovery compared to the weapon/spell damage from warrior/apprentice. Before the patch they were equal, you would only need serpent or atronarch if they provided more recovery than you could get with gear, but that isn't the case anymore with the buffs.

The shadow is still a good option if you use it, and the addition of crit healing is also nice. In full divines gear, I've noticed my base crit damage is slightly boosted compared to before the patch.

Something else to think about with the Shadow and new Divines is that there is no longer any rounding down, so each piece of Divines will actually give you benefit. Idk why they didn't do the same with the Ritual (Healing mundus).

Shadow is in a good spot for PvE and PvP.

Atronach and serpent seem to be the winners this patch.
I guess in the end it is all role dependend.
A healer will really benefit from Atro now. Where they were pulling 2500 recovery. That would be over 3000 now.
As a DD there is no way around the shadow. Even with nerf it still outperformes the thief, above a crit chance of roughly 50%.
And with the new divines trait you can even spare yourself some cp in the crit node, when your group has minor and major force.
Tanks get a beating this patch (pardon the pun). But Lord and Lady still are best in slot.
If anyone here says: OH! But, PVP! I swear I'll ...

Thank you for the valuable input and respectfully recommend to discuss that aspect of ESO on the PVP forum.

I actually went and grabbed the Steed, which I never use, on my poor lowbies who got their rapids taken away. It doesn’t really seem to help much, though, sadly.

Th3asiangod did a very detailed number crunch, which also comes with good explanations as to the reasoning here. https://youtu.be/-3frYYXcvtU

But for those that may not have the time. The conclusion he came to is basically, in a set-up with less than 53.8% crit, run thief, and anything above that number, run shadow.

It's a noticeable nerf, but it's still really good.

If it was still 14 % it would be 22% instead of 19.

am not so sure about lady or lord for tanks. as a NB tank I think i will be going atronach and I can recoup the health I lose from the lord through the buffs other stuff got. obviously especially infused trait.

Except NB and Templar. That point is more like 60%.

Yah, for solo play the Thief/Shadow question only becomes relevant when you start reaching higher than 50% crit rate or 60%+ crit damage rating, and even then Lover is still pretty good, since it is consistent damage without RNG. I think lover with all gold divines will net you around 10% increase in overall damage.

But if you want the absolute best damage and you are walking around with a natural 50%+ crit rate/60%crit damage rate, you may want to break out the calculator and see if Thief or Shadow will get you a few more % damage.

Also for any "on crit damage" proc sets.

that is a funny way to spell Steed, which is far more useful to a tank then more health or armor.

Not sure for PvE but in PvP the Steed my favorite. The health recovery is a nice bonus but it's the extra movement speed that really makes the big difference. Moving fast while fighting is the best way to stay alive in Cyro in this meta.

Atronach and serpent are both bugged right now. They give you zero regen unless you are in combat. If you can find a way to get your Regen from food, you're better off going that route IMO.
