Why no green orcs?

It seems in most Elderscrolls games you can make some type of green skinned Orc. But, in ESO it’s all mud colors with only some having a slight green color and some blue tint in others. I don’t need a neon green orc but it would’ve been nice to add some more green tint to their skin.

This game takes place before all the others, perhaps green is a less dominant skin color than it will be later on. Gene pools do shift over time.

I dunno man you might have some unrealized color recognition issues. Almost every Orc I see is some shade of green. More often than not a very light green or greyish/brownish green, but still definitely green.

They were indeed green from Arena all the way up to Oblivion, but I think that wanted to distance them a bit from that typical cartoonish green and make them more realistic Elven blood (which is per lore) and less stereotypical Warhammer/WoW green Orc.
Skyrim introduced more gray tones so ESO continued.

Simmer down there buddy no need to insult people’s vision. Yes as I stated there’s some green piled under muddy colors. Google image orcs and look from other scrolls games for a clear comparison.

I think it's a "realism" thing. They toned down all skin colors after Oblivion. If you compare how yellowish Altmer looked back then and how they look now, it's exactly the same issue.

There are some skin colors that aren't available to everyone. Just think about the eye or hair colors that we can't get (like the black-haired Altmer)

There are Orcs in game with green skin - look at Mighty Mordra, the Orcs in Vulkwasten, and I think the Orc Sergeant in Craglorn by the Bangkorai gate. That color is just unavailable to us.

Pity, I'd have preferred my main to have more greenish skin. I took the best one I could.

My Orc is black. Most other Orc are muddy brown/green.

A lot of the Orc npc's are green, it's just players who can't have that nice green tone

That wasn't an insult. Deficiencies in color differentiation are incredibly common. Especially in green and red, and often go unrecognized for long periods. 🤷‍♂️

Ah well look directly above your last post to that NPC. That’s green. And I don’t understand why we aren’t offered that.

Another way to look at it:
We are the Vestige, a soulless husk maintained by Shards of Aetherius. There is bound to be some discoloration as the decay process is halted and held at bay by Aetherial energies.
