Tonight, someone asked if anyone had a vamp bite.

I replied saying I did but they would have to say please...

No response, just another call for a bite.

An I wrong because I asked for manners?]

No, you're not, but they probably thought you were being obtuse and difficult because there are people who do that in the game--but I feel you, manners cost nothing and there are too many times where it's lacking.

Well, "lf vamp bite" != "lf lesson on good manners".
You are not wrong, but such requests are pretty pointless and a tad annoying.

Hah, no I don't think so. I have several vampires. If the person in zonechat makes me laugh or says please, I'll stop what I'm doing to give them a bite. Rude or crude, or spammin every 10 seconds, they can just keep on looking.

I would answer you, but you didn't say please

Let's be honest: Most people just ignore all those short "lf free vampire bite", "anyone bite me", "want vamp bite" requests, right? At least to me, it just looks like someone wants something for free but doesn't care for more. So: Why would I spend my time stopping what I'm currently doing, logging off, logging in with a vampire char, grouping, moving to a shrine, just because a stranger wants something, and probably wouldn't even say thank you? Where's the motivation? I like to help if I can, but only when I know the person or they seem polite and friendly to me. So I would not give them a lesson in politeness, I wouldn't react to them in chat at all.
