Vocals - Idea

I thought it would be fun if there were a bunch of different sounds, phrases, and words that you could set to hotkeys, and abilities. Now you don't only hear your character scream, and you don't have to shoot arrows in the direction you know your group is supposed to go or start spamming a spell next to a chest to get people's attention before trying "chest" anyway lol.

Yeah would be cool if they included a "lul git gud noob" line in the options.
That would finally take some of the strain off my crouch key.

I like the idea of being able to yell “chest over here!” Or whatever. Anytime I’m in a solo delve or cave and there’s a much lower level character behind me, I save them the chests. Normally, I stand by the chest jumping up and down till they notice. If that doesn’t get their attention, I shoot at them with my mag character or run up to them with my melee character to get their attention. Using chat to get someone’s attention only works maybe 15% of the time

I wouldn't mind if they included it, for positive or neutral intentions. Although I'm not sure if people might not even abuse that and start screaming "sack" ceaselessly in towns and banks. If you consider how the chat looks like during free trials, you know it's not unlikely.

True, that would be hard to regulate or monitor.
Maybe a cooldown on any one word/phrase not linked to an ability, and words such as "sack" couldn't be linked to abilities. ?

That would make sense, yes. I still probably wouldn't use it, but many people probably would like it - so, why not?!

My problem with vocals in general is, that they don't always fit the voice you've chosen during character creation. You already have that now with emotes that include sounds. There's normally only one voice for each emote, according to race (and of course gender). For example, the standard Dunmer voice in emotes is extremely low and husky. My main is still a younger guy, and it absolutely doesn't fit him.

So true, pitch and tone are problems.
In that case maybe a vocal pitch and tone slider so the player can easily customize the voice. Should be simple enough to implement.
Not trying to convince you to use it haha I just like thinking of solutions when I'm faced with a problem. Thank you 😉

maybe an addon could do that. It would be nice if consoles could incorporate keyboards into the game so we could store emotes, sounds etc under letters for use when the chat window is closed

If it worked that way, I'd probably use it. It's not that I'm against the concept itself.
