Crafting purple items

Hi everyone ..

If i want to craft a purple item, can i then do so directly ? Or do i first need to craft the normal white level ... and then upgrade the item 3 times to green , then to blue and then to purple ?

It might be a stupid question ;-)

What is the best way if you want to craft purple items ?

You craft it white and then upgrade, yes

You have to upgrade them first.

Green-->Blue-->Purple-->Gold
