What's the most annoying monster set?

For me, it's Maw of the infernal. I was tanking Selene's today, and both dds were wearing Maw. I spent half the time on my back, because I couldn't see the boss to know when to block. I hate that daedra.

    They really need to make that monster set only visible to the user and enemy players. I think Aegis Caller works that way could be wrong.

    Yeah, I've been complaining about this set for years. It's obnoxious for tanks. It's even worse now - because that Alcast guy must use it now or something because every other damage dealer seems to be wearing it these days.

    The developers need to start considering tanks more when designing content. They like to make these tiny little animations that can kill you but then add these giant graphic effects that make it impossible to see in the first place. That huge Necromancer Ultimate (I'm assuming it's an ultimate) is bad about it too - but at least it's not as consistent.

    So they either need to redesign these effects or add a new system for tanks that makes it easier to block. I'm convinced this is a lot of the reason more players don't play tanks. They get sick and tired of missing blocks or wiping the group because they can't see some obscure animation.

    It really messes up with your targeting, I have lost so many fights because my auto aim targets the little automaton and not my opponent. And once I "kill" it, it just respawns.

    Definitely agree with Maw of the Infernal. That !@!#$$! daedroth blocks every boss I am trying to tank. I be like "I just got hit with a heavy attack 3 seconds ago and my stamina is around 50%, let me do a heavy attack of my own (daedroth suddenly runs in) to restore some stami.... 1 shotted?! wtf I couldn't see the animation!"

    Maw of the Infernal.
    As someone who don't use combat add-on I need to see boss mechanic/movement. This set is so awful..
    That pretty simple since he's so popular I don't raid anymore, way to boring.

    Oh man, BC2 with Maw running around is insanity. It's hard enough to try to hold all of the Daedroths and watch for more coming without trying to range taunt your groupmate's pet. At least the sorc pets are a different color.

    I think the most interesting tanking experience I had was holding Ozara in vSO against the wall and Maws were spawning all around me. I ended up stuck in forced first person holding block, and all I could see on screen was the inside of a Daedroth's mouth. Pretty much told my group to watch me if I got pinned, because I couldn't do anything but hold block and pray.

    My mentor / partner tank in my guild also feels the same way. He has actually said that he won't tank if people are using MoI because it gets in the way of him doing his job.

    I don't have the same annoyance of it, personally, but I can see why people do. It can be quite intrusive.

    As far as my own personal most annoying monster set? Slimecraw. For no other reason than I hate the name, and I hate the appearance of the helmet. I hate the aesthetics of it so so so so so so much that I hate even having it equipped even with the "hide helm" option.

    Totally irrational, I get it lol, but yea. That's my most annoying monster set.

    I put it on an alt simply as I had two heavy sets on it and needed to level heavy armor on alt and stats looked decent.
    The daedrot confused me for some time until I got I summoned it, so fun in daedra public dungeons :)

    Grinding just make you go in circles.

    [snip] not tanked BC2 with people using Maw but tanking it on an low dps group with maw. Switch monster set, we do it one key or I leave.

    Most annoying sets to me are the ones that take up a lot of space, have obnoxious/distracting animations, sets that block player view (also, pets)... and most of all:

    Maw of Infernal.

    It looks awesome and works well for damage but why not make it smaller and for the sake of sanity doing group content at least change the color to make it stand out from other enemies.

    ha - maw most definitely adds to the chaos of a large pvp melee...it just blinds everyone :)

    but, got to agree with the folks above about engine guardian getting in the way all the time of trying to hit someone in pvp...

    Monster sets that I don't have yet and want are incredibly annoying. 😂 (kidding)

    Maw seems to be winning. I have always liked Maw because of it's big Daedroth. I love the effect and have used it in IC and PVP. I gave an awesome to @tomofhyrule for his story of tanking inside the head of the Daedroth. 😄 I guess when I get back to PVE, I will leave Maw at home.

    Many requests and suggesions have been made to ZoS relating to the Maw problem. It has been requested in several other threads to disable a group member's Maw's flame effect when you have the video option "Show Additional Ally Effects:" set to <off>.

    ZoS has been silent.

    If Maw was just spawned on the flanks INSTEAD of the tanks head, 90% of my complains would be gone. Go thru all this effort of making telegraphs and punishing mechanics and then.....firebreathing demon crocodile appears right in the telegraph zone......baffling.

    Maw of the Infernal is fun to have, but I'd never use it in a dungeon. Too annoying for other players in the group, especially the tanks.

    Engine Guardian and Grothdar. Engine Guardian needs to be untargetable. If you use Engine Guardian, you are effectively Xv1'ing your opponent. Grothdar does too much free damage. Fighting anyone with that feels like fighting outnumbered.

    The reason it is targetable is because of it's heal and resource restore. Allowing players to target it and interrupt it, provides a counterplay in PvP.

    One thing I would definitely change is make ultimates unable to be cast on pets. When fighting a mag sorc, I can target the sorc in front of me, hit meteor and it will go to the flappy flap, that's way off on the edge of the screen or behind me.

    When ZoS updated most of the monster sets, they buffed maw of infernal a lot. It is now the highest single target dps monster set with no range limitations like Zaan.

    Though I really agree this daedroth shouldn't be visible to other players in pve. And that it shouldn't spawn directly in line of sight of the target. It'll be a big favor for tanks if this thing spawns behind the target or to the side.

    The most annoying one for me is the one that doesn't exist yet, the one which procs a Poison Damage spray in an arc with a spectacularly splashy animation.
