Does anyone like the Necro bone pile tether beam visual?

Since release I have been unable to enjoy playing the necromancer class due to this one ability visual effect. I feel that if ZOS were to change ONLY the visuals, to skeletal hands (colored by spec) coming up from the ground in the path between you and the bone pile, rather than this totally silly and quite frankly lazy laser beam design that is the most visually jarring and nonsensical ability in the entire game IMO, it would be much easier to get into the class and the game would be that much more fun because of it.

What do you think? Does the magical bone pile laser beam tether of death visual appeal to you?

    I certainly don't like the beam, but I don't think a bunch of skeletal hands is the answer here either.


    What I'd like to see is the mystic siphon beam ability to raise the corpse for the duration of the beam and have it attack enemies whilst the AoE affect is still going on around it.

    Then the beam would make sense because you're spending that energy to keep the corpse animated and dealing damage around it.

    That is definitely an interesting idea and in line with the common perception that necro should have more persistent summons the community has. I was mainly going with minimal investment possible since that seems to be the ZOS mindset. So no changes to the actual mechanics of the ability, with the "damage things between you and the bone pile" behavior. That way all they would have to do is change the visual appearance.

    But, I would not be against a larger redesign. I just think the beam visual would be a little over the top even for keeping a summon alive, since then you would almost have to add beams to the ghost, blastbones, skeletal archer, etc. since you are also keeping all of them alive, leading to beampocalypse! :p

    True but the idea around this beam-summon is you're not only keeping it alive, but you are causing damage around it. Also the Mage/Ghost are conjurations, not corpses being literally raised from the ground.

    I am fine with it (read: just leave it alone! lol) - but if I am referencing the correct skill, the Stam version is the one that looks oddly-layered; unique green; and cartoony / out of place, IMHO.

    It does look a little janky. If nothing else, the beam should connect to the necros hand and not shoot directly into their chest.
