    Automated account check:

If Player Has X or more crowns spent -> Player is warned or "Suspended" for the weekend.
If Player Has X or less crowns spent -> Player is banned and notice sent out to players "We have banned "X" many accounts due to exploiting".

Whenever a player abuses a glitch, cheat, etc... this is how it should be handled IMO...

First Offense: You get a warning by in game email and by normal email associated with your account explaining that next offense will result in a 48 hour ban.
Second Offense: Receive an email explaining why you got ban and the next offense will be for a week
Third Offense: Email sent to explain why you received the ban and next offense is for a month
Fourth Offense Email sent to explain why you received ban and next offense you are ban for a 3 months (this ban will be used going forward)

we should be able to see their character paying for the exploit or cheat that was committed.
and a sign saying what the offense was along with the characters name.

Force them to open crates, since according to half the forums they are the worst thing ever created.

Like force them to open 100 or more. That’ll teach ‘em!

Depends on the offense and the nature/frequency of the offense.

I can’t remember the game, but I remember one way back in the day that would put your character in a bunny suit if you used a cheat program in single player then transferred your character to multiplayer. I was so confused when I saw all these people walking around in pink bunny suits at first.

Sacred Underworld? Not sure how effective of a punishment that was but a great game though!

    That’s the one. Good memory!

Locked in an empty, doorless and windowless room with Stuga and those insipid 'dragons in your own home' npcs. And the 'lose my shirt' lady in Craglorn from before they nerfed her.

edit: No wait...this is the clear winner:

It really depends on the severity of the cheat/exploit itself and how far the player pushed it.

I have no problem with perma bans on serious abusers. Good riddance as far as I am concerned. However, I realize some might have been lesser offenders or the exploit was not as big of an issue. Short term bans from days to even months should be used for lesser cases.

I also like the idea of such things as the bunny costume mentioned above but maybe make it less cute and curse all the characters on the account with being weaker in all aspects.

Trading guilds GM are a mafia on PS4 EU They sold gold for real money since years, thousands € each month
Perma ban is needed for most PS4EU trading guild GM ZOS you lost like 500k € maybe more each year just from a few GM

Cheaters should have their payment method (bank account/paypal/visa/etcetera) emptied of all money and that money should be given to charity.

Or the gameserver should install a rootkit on their computer that makes it imposible to play ESO ever again.

Yes, I'm being radical on purpose. :)

In The Matrix Online cheaters used to be take away by the game devs to the backdoor corridor with all the doors leading off, and then into a white room. Of course once word got out this was happening a lot of people tried to get taken there lol

In the early days of GTAV (2013/2014), they used dunce hats. Well, that didn't really work because everyone wanted a dunce hat. Just made it worse.

So just ban them from the game starting with 30 days. Let it escalate from there.

In Guild Wars 2 a confirmed cheater had their account taken over by a GM, one of their characters stripped to his undies and made to jump to his death off a wall, then had their characters deleted and account removed.

I doubt something like this would happen in ESO. ZOS are and have always been absolutely spineless when it comes to cheating. At most the account will be banned, but there have been cases where confirmed cheaters have later been unbanned, so even that is not a guarantee of adequate response.

If I could choose how to deal with cheaters in ESO, I'd put the account's most serious offender in stocks at a busy player hub, wearing the title "cheater", lock the account and throw away the key.

Wow I find it very funny. Ok this game does something to the cheaters but we don´t get to enjoy of the public shaming. Apparently, there are some cases made public because the cheater (accussed one) made it known. One streamer got banned of sharing his account, which was streamed live and thus proven. He got unbanned. Apparently, he let his little brother to play ESO. How do you judge if that needs hard or lenient consequences?

Edit. I just gave a very bad example of "cheating" when I think about it. Apparently, any action to boost his/ her game performance acquired by a cheat mechanism should be bannable without parole.

Put them in stocks around the map, until another cheater gets caught and must take their place. Then ban the account.

Love this. Some form of public punishment, so other players can RP :D I would totally throw tomatoes. Maybe they can program NPC's to insult them as they walk by! Similar to when you get caught pick pocketing and they say something snippy.

Perhaps next to the stocks there will be a board, similar to writ boards, and when read it lists off all the cheaters (i.e. 23 cheaters caught this week for botting) and their information. This way, players can choose to block them.

That's it.... their account would be permanently locked away that way every time they log in, with every character. The only choice would then be to voluntarily delete their account. Then if the same IP tries to create a new account, surely that could raise some sort of red flag and their new account would be denied.

Or... I would also like to see their account completely shunned by all, players and npcs. Whenever they try to talk to a merchant, they look away with disgust. They can't bank, they can't sell, they can't form groups........ doom cheaters to a tamriel where no one, not even quest givers will interact with them. Then monsters become friendlies :D and no longer attack, nor can be attacked. Completely ruin their experience, the way they ruin other players experience. Also, make them a silhouette so other players can identify that a cheater is roaming around, but we cant see any of their accomplishments (emotes, armor, skins, etc.). Too far? :open_mouth:
