Why no audio notification of many things?

Why do more things not at least have the option for an audio notice? Dungeons or Campaigns becoming available can easily be missed if you don't just sit and stare at the screen while waiting.

I usually miss them because I look away for a bit while waiting, such as reading here on my computer, but I have also missed them while questing because I was focused on that and looked right past the onscreen notification.

Wouldn't this be considered an accessibility issue as well?

To get this right. You want some sort of noice when you are in queue for a dungeon? On PS4 there is a noice when the tool found a dungeon for you.

Sounds and noises don't help me much. Being deaf I rely heavily on onscreen information and visual cues. One of the main reasons I play with a controller is the vibration which is more often enough my cue in most games. There are lots of things I feel should trigger controller shake, queues etc being among those. Another thing which frustrates me is bosses like Velidreth who says "don't move a muscle"; the subtitles don't pop up in time and I used to get stung by that mechanic more than I like. Now I know its coming I just watch out for all my teammates suddenly stopping. That's my visual aid 😂 but really in the case of your queue problem, I've been told it does make a noise when ready, and I know it flashes the notifications icon on screen, plus there are several menus it will pop in front of, especially in controller ui. I think there is enough notice for that. I do, however, feel ZOS could work better on visual aids for environmental and combat mechanics and telegraphs, many are actually quite well done, but a few are less obvious.

As for missing the on-screen notification, not sure anything will help when immersion is that powerful :D

Easy to miss since it is only text on part of the screen (as I have found from experience).

Only when you miss a queue, sometimes, in my experience. It is not the immersion that is so powerful, it is that it is easy to get distracted. Sometimes I think it can be going in and out of a delve or building at the wrong time, especially with long loading times.

I have missed far too many with no notice. That is my point.

Deafness is not the only disability. Though you would need some visual ability to play, but audio prompting can help with that and is a key part of accessibility issues in other areas.

That doesn't negate the value of things that help you of course. Having the controller shake for these events would be quite helpful for most cases. It is audible and sensory.

I am wondering here though why they don't do more here though. Why was this choice made?

I agree. On PC, I used to have the same issue, so I made an addon that you setup to get an audible notification, auto-accept, or both:
    https://www.esoui.com/downloads/info2286-GroupSynergizer-EnhancedLFGFeaturesAutoAcceptQueBetterNotifications.html

There are others out there that have similar options but this only focuses on LFG activities.

    Hope it will help.

You are wrong. A visual indicator is usually given, but since it can be delayed so long it is easy to look at other things while waiting. That means you may miss the notice unless you are starring at the screen for the entire lengthy time to get a dungeon or similar even to finally happen.

This is a very significant delay.

I wish this was on the PS4, but it is not. That is why I wonder why the game does not have this feature built in? I can understand no auto-accept, but some sound should be a setting at the very least.

I can't turn off the music on the very initial screen, but I can't get any audio notice here. Why is that?

Lots of audio cues have been absent for a few patches now: dungeon queues popping; daily rewards; and even mail pings happen well after I have cleared my inbox, and moved on.

I do think I get mail notices, but it could be guild changes that I am thinking are that.

How horrible, asking you to look at the screen when playing a game

Yes, I should stare intently at the screen, with no distractions, while waiting 1 hour plus for a queue to pop. Right.

Though I may miss it even then, as I have with no notification I saw. Silly me, I should just sit at the screen and do nothing while waiting, only staring at the screen.

A sound would be so bad to have, right?

Though none of you answered why this decision was made.
