Nightblades in graves!

This up coming update, I'm hearing from people that they are needing nightblades even more. WE HAD ENOUGH NERFING and can't even be in pvp anymore now, Yet they are nerfing it again, ZOS, just take out the nightblade class already if your point is to get rid of it by nerfing it to the ground. Further more, why not just make everything hit literally for 1 point of damage at this rate. We need more buffs, not nerfs! As a nightblade, my friends and I can't even solo dungeons And the sorc getting crystal frag as an instant cast, proposterous! Crystal frag hits hard as it is. We don't need it to hit as hard as it does on top of the damage it does already!

Which nerf are you referring to? If I do recall correctly they're being given a buff next update?

The main changes I remember are grim focus damage reduction to crit damage/healing and damage from stealth passive changed to flank.

I like both these changes. The damage reduction was nice but now it helps healing and damage.

The flank change I feel is a buff. Why would you attack their face from stealth? At least I don't have to use/spam cloak for that passive now.

Well the flanking imo should add not be how it works, that's going to be very difficult. Yeah have to try grim focus before forming an opinion. Seems they may be trying to reduce some blades in cyrodiil from these changes?

Good luck with that flanking buff on magblades when 90 percent of your scrolling combat text is "dodged".....

Be specific, what specific nerf are you talking about here? And while I agree we sure could use more buffs, I haven’t found myself unable to solo dungeons I’ve soloed before, on either my stamblade main or my magblade. I’ve just adapted to the changes.

The flanking change adds damage to so many more attacks this way. Previously it was only 1 attack from stealth.

Also flanking is so easy in this game. The left or right side of your enemy counts as flanking, just take a step to their side and you hit. As long as its not their literal face it's flanking.

There really isn’t anything more satisfying for me in pvp then a good relentless focus kill 🙂

Haha my NB has a 50k radiating mutagen, you know that buff to crit heals is a very bad idea, but for once I will keep my mouth shut ;)

Well I'd certainly give it a go. Just seems more difficult. I like good changes if they're good. It's one thing on paper but another in practice. Just have to see.

Crystal Frag proc was always instant
Other Crystal morph is stamina and base skill has cast time. How is it instant?

It's instant because they said they are making it where they are not requiring a proc to be instant anymore.

Wait, what? Where in the patch notes does it say that? Asking for a sorcerer.

    It doesn't say that.

That's what I thought, I was hoping that I had missed something.

Crystal fragement still has both aspect of cast time and instant proc. Cast time portion had its cast time reduced to 0.8 down from 1.0 second and damage reduced by 22% to act as a spammable. Instant proc from crytal fragment had been buffed to deal 66% instead of 35% i beleive to compensate for the damage reduction of the vase skill. Ultimately, crystal fragment instant proc will still same damage on live as it is on PTS. Hard casting crystal fragment is still interuptable.

The other morph called crystal blast has been reworked to be a stamina spammable called crystal weapon, I believe. Crystal weapon is an instant cast and had its damafe reduced by 22% same as crystal framgent. Crystal weapon work excatly same as crushing weapon from pisijic skill line except it lasr 4secs instead of 2 secs

I don't get what OP is trying to say... NB is probably second strongest class after sorc. They have some absurd skills and buffs. Being glass cannons though you do need a healer to clear dungeons. Being unable to solo dungeons is not proof of nerfs. This is just how this class works.

Sorcerer is second strongest class, so nightblade is third. Asude from that, OP wants to clear 4 man content with only 1 player. It is hard, but possiable to do. When magicka sorcerer do that, they usually use shields along side critical surge. Magucka nightblade can use siphoning"every nightblade should yse it because ut us sustain" and swallow soul as well as shield, it would produce smiliar results. Stamina sorcerer can doth it with critical surge and vigor, stamina nightblade potentially can use briar heart to act similar to surge and vigor. Since we are going comparing clearing dungeons on class, magucka templar can *** their way through dungeons vetter than sorcerer.

As you have said, comparing which classes can solo dungeobs is not a nerf proof. Nightblqde is getting multiple buffs next patch. It is true that mitigatiib for nightblades tanks was nerfed, but they gained more healing, so it should be somewhere close to where they are right now. nightblade might jump to second or even first class DD due to the change on merciless and master assassin, I could be wrong though.

Which nerf are you referring to? If I do recall correctly they're being given a buff next update?
Pretty much the entire last year had more or less a "theme" of NB nerfs (Elsweyr, Scalebreaker, Dragonguard). They even came up with a specific term "Nightblade redundancy removal" (as they claimed that NB had a lot of similar buffs in different skills... so they removed most of them, but they did not gave anything in return).

If you will look at some content creators class tier ranking from that time, you will see than NB was pretty much on the bottom (Mag NB was one of the worst mag spec, and stam NB was one of the worst stam spec at that time). Popular theory (and I think this theory might be right) is that those nerfs were only there to push Necromancer class sales - as NB is a base game class with similar power - fantasy.

So no wonder that NB is getting some buffs next patch.

What is funny actually quite sad is that this will be 1st patch that will have some tiny NB buffs (not bug-fixes, but actually buffs) and mostly non-nb mains are already mad... and the patch is not even out yet... and we have another week of PTS still ahead of us... :#

If your theory was right, sorcerer class would be worse than nightblade class, especially magicka sorcerer.

I made a thread sometime a go about nightblades being overperforming and had many redundant buffs/debuffs. The thread was very popular and most people agreed to it and I think that resulted in "nightblade redundancy removal". My current viewing on nightblade is that it needs some adjustments to make it better. Fyi, stamblade is in great spot when it comes to battlegrounds. Magblade is on the other end of the spectrum.
