Thanks ZOS for ruining the event for me

[snip] No boxes for daily crafting? A big rip off and now a waste of my time. I'm not bothering with it now as I despise doing daily quests when there's hundreds of people doing the same thing. Not only does it take forever to accomplish things because ppl are greedy and inconsiderate but the rewards are pathetic for the trouble it takes to do anything. So this event is useless to me. I'm guessing you are on PC trying to bamboozle ZOS into giving away literally over 100 event loot boxes per day by using Lazy Writ Crafter? That's Jubilee.

This is the sort of thing Monty Haul rewards encourages. The more generous the devs are, the more people demand. Then the devs eventually have to stop or pull back, and people whine, just as Machiavelli predicts.

Whilst I don't agree with the OP's reasoning around others doing the quests (I'm sure they all get some enjoyment out of it) I may be wrong, but wasn't Jewellery Crafting introduced with Summerset chapter? Maybe some sort of jewellery-based rewards could've been considered?

    Very much this.

Zone specific events tend to only work with zone-specific quests. It may be beneficial to check Zos' statement in their news feed to get information about the event.

Each daily quest in summerset is instanced to you so other people cant interfere with your questing.

Not only that, but its never going to be easier to kill the world bosses with so many people around.

The last Elsewyr event they did not give double daily reward boxes so this is great for an event.

I suppose one of those Summerset Coffers for crafting jobs might have been nice-ish, but would there be a way to tell whether the job had been done elsewhere and then simply turned in in Summerset?

Anyway, you can get Summerset Coffers from just about anything in Summerset-- harvesting nodes of various types, killing overland mobs, etc. Those are not the once-a-day ones that can reward the outfit style pages, but they can still contain treasure, Summerset gear, and (I think) Summerset style mats. So if you just run around farming nodes, you'll likely end up with quite a few Summerset Coffers each day.

As for doing the daily jobs, they're easy to complete lickety-split due to all the people running around one-shotting everything, and the fact that you could barely get a hit of your own in is irrelevant, since the tickets and reward box come from the quest giver when you turn in the job, so you get them even if you weren't able to get looting privileges on any corpses-- an elegant solution, I think, to past events where it was often next to impossible to loot a corpse and get your rewards.

Not really as jewelry crafting isn't exclusive to the Summerset zone. It is true we got jewelry crafting with Summerset but now it is just another part of crafting.

We’ve never gotten loot boxes from doing crafting writs during zone events before, so how is it they’re suddenly ruining this one by not adding them now? Are you mixing up zone events and Jubilee?

You can't be serious. Writ event rewards are not a common thing, they're literally there for one event. These dailies are one of the easiest ones there - get quest - tp to boss location - get a few baubles marked for your quest that are instanced, so no one can snag themaway from you - - kill the boss/wait for anyone to kill it since you don't have to even loot it (optional since only one daily has a boss) - turn it in - profit! Easy peasy, you get your tickets no problem unlike some other events where you had to loot the boss and the drop rate wasn't guaranteeing you anything. As for purple boxes, just go around Summerset and do whatever, kill things, gather nodes, do some more dailies. Have fun, it's a game, not a job.

That's right, crafting is part of the overall game, not just related to a particular zone or skill line. Plus, during the annual anniversary event, daily crafting writs do give event rewards. This is a more appropriate time for crafting to be included in an event anyway.

One might be able to make an argument for jewel crafting as that is part of the Summerset expansion, but you're right for the rest.

The whole point of events is to funnel players into different areas of the game, presumably in the hope that players will discover they like doing something they'd previously ignored (or will pay for DLC they'd skipped to gain access). If every event gave rewards from every daily activity that wouldn't happen, players would just keep doing whatever they normally do and the event would be irrelevant.

I'm not sure why you're surprised by this now though, the only event which does reward crafting dailies is the anniversary celebration. There's been at least one event since then (mid-year mayhem) which didn't give anything for crafting, so even if you only started playing in March there's been enough time to realise not all events are identical.

Imagine if people would stop posting these snarky/sarcastic "Thanks ZOS [insert random pointless complaint]" threads, and instead focused on more pressing concerns - the REAL problems of this game? Due to these completely uncalled for complaints, the legit ones are drowning in a sea of baby cries, and can't be heard.

As for the boxes: Yes. It would make sense if we got boxes from jewelry crafting, because it originates from the Summerset area. But now - as with any other area specific jubilee event (afaik) - you get the boxes from killing bosses (and even random trash mobs at this one), doing dailies and such. Not from crafting. The ESO jubilee event (aka "ruin-the-motif-market-event") drops boxes from crafting, probably because it's not an area specific event.

A more legit concern here would be: "Why is the sound disappearing as soon as there are like 40 players at a geyser? It's a new type of glitch you should take a closer look at". Yes, we probably had an abnormal server overload first few hours yesterday, and I understand that this game is not made to have like 50 players withing a 30 meter radius, all spamming abilities. But it's still a real problem, not an opinion.

Working at ZOS must be pretty terrible much of the time. Having to put up with both real problems and complaints, and just as many completely uncalled for ones.

I got my first grand summerset coffer no problem yesterday, and even cycled through a few characters doing dailies, killing delve bosses, farming resource nodes etc for the chance of more regular summerset boxes. Getting into a dailies group wasn't much of an issue, and I ended up with a few motif pages (motifs that otherwise take time to farm or cost a decent chunk of gold to buy from a guild vendor), a couple of the style pages, a decent amount of gold from selling treasure, and a bunch of overland set gear - some of which I'll keep, and the rest of which will be sold or decon'd for extra materials - for my time. The double coffer from the weekly Cloudrest quest is also very welcome - though I do think it would've been a nice touch to double the drops from the Trial bosses for the duration of the event too. The cherry on top is being able to buy some of the Summerset furnishings for tickets; got me an Alinor-themed build in mind involving a bunch of the specimen cases!

Personally I'm happy with the event; it's got me doing things in Summerset for extra rewards, some of which I deem to be rather nice. If you don't feel like the event is for you, well, you can always go about your gameplay as you would normally. Since you're not happy with the potential rewards anyway, it's not like you'd be missing out, is it.

OP, the only event that gives you boxes for crafting is the anniversary event each year. You get boxes for doing anything and everything.

Most of these events are do daily quests in a zone or "holiday" related events. Basically, quests tailored to the event that give themed rewards.

The anniversary one is the anomaly.
