Psijic Music Box - is this effect intended or a bug?

Hi all, did anybody buy the new Psijic Music Box (Enigmas of the Elder Way) yet?

In the preview it displays a strange blue circle and I was wondering if it's actually there on the item once you place it, or if it's just in the preview? The effect looks a bit shoddy compared to the item itself and the other effects, imo, so I'd rather not buy it if it has a permanent editor-like reticle effect floating around its base.

So, does anybody know, is that effect on the actual item too, when it's active in your house?

Edit: Answered, it's apparently an intended part of the item when it's on.
Edit 2: Also, I don't seem to hear the music in the Preview. Lol. Not sure if it's just me or what.

That effect is part of the item and is also there after you buy it.

And ah well... shame. *sadface* Was looking forward to this, but that effect is really non-immersive imho.

I like it personally, but I also run on minimum graphics so if there's a difference in quality of textures I can't usually tell
It does have a strong light to it and I've stuck mine on the ceiling of my music box storage as a lamp.

Thats really disappointing... I would expect runes, or another more intricate, swirly, ya know... psijic looking effect? But this futuristic reticle is atrocious.

I guess my deciding factor will be when I listen to the song, and if I like it, deciding where I want to hide it when its active.

Well, yeah the Music Box is nice. I might get it as a magic light, constantly on the 'off' setting, or sink it into a tea table so the circle isn't visible or something. Anyway, thanks for the responses, it's good to know what to expect from it, before making a purchase!

But that rotating geometric circle really isn't integrated well. It doesn't line up with the base and just goes through the legs instead, and the effect is a lot more simple and than the usual magic effects we see ingame and on the main Music Box orb too. So it looks more like a graphical glitch than an intended design element. Perhaps if it was smaller and fit onto the circle motif between the legs? Rather than just randomly rotating through it all at a certain elevation? Ah well.

I'm okay with the concept: a discus light pattern emitting from the base... but at least make it match the intricate aesthetic of everything else in the game. Why give us a weird TRON visual...
