Summerset Event Tickets Not Dropping Again?

Please don't tell me we are going to have another Murkmire mess with event tickets not dropping. Did a new delve today in Summerset, was the only person at the boss, defeated him and didn't get any event tickets. Did the same with 2 others on a Geyser, definitely did my share of damage, once again, nothing. Is anyone else having problems?

Tickets don't drop overland. They are received when you turn in your first Summerset daily quest of the day.

    https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/news/post/58487
you need Event Tickets. During the event period, you can acquire three as an additional reward for the first delve, world boss, Abyssal Geyser, or Cloudrest trial quest you complete each day—the same activities you were already doing for the event!

 Do a quest, then get your Tickets. Killing bosses does nothing.

Yes, that freaked me out at first, because I helped kill a world boss but got no looting privileges due to the size of the crowd, then I got no tickets after killing a delve boss. But I was extremely relieved to get my tickets from the job giver when I turned in the first of the two jobs.

I think this was a wise way to do it, because it ensures that people won't miss their tickets by failing to loot a corpse. As long as you complete the job-- which, for delves, does not even require killing a boss-- you still get your tickets when you turn it in.

I'm really happy they're doing it this way. Takes away a lot of the event stress to just get the tickets (and box) from the questgiver.

Do yourself a favor and read this thread, the news article, or one of the other threads on the topic. The tickets are awarded when you hand in the quest, not from looting something.

I made the same mistake, I thought it was the same as the previous Summerset event where the tickets came from looting the boss. It was only after killing one (and getting loot) I found out they come from the quest.

Well, apparently this is written so confusingly that even the devs didn't get the word "quest", because the German translation does not mention it either (only for Cloudrest quest). :p

The official event description does not say you need to hand in a daily quest to qualify for event tickets. Would be typical ZOS ambiguity except it isn't ambiguous. "During the event period, you can acquire three as an additional reward for the first delve, world boss, Abyssal Geyser, or Cloudrest trial quest you complete each day" no mention of quest completion at all and no impied requirement either... Failed again

@grkkll The word quest applies to ‘first delve, world boss, Abyssal Geyser, or Cloudrest trial’

Just participated in a gyser. No event tickets.

    The article states:

"As you venture throughout Summerset, you’ll receive extra loot from all daily quest rewards, resource nodes, world, delve bosses, and Psijic Portals (only in Summerset!). Even better, the first time you complete an Abyssal Geyser, delve, world boss daily quest, or the Cloudrest trial weekly quest each day, you’ll earn a Glorious Summerset Coffer in addition to your regular rewards."

    Emphasis added.

To avoid this Event ticket confusion, I think the article should have stated "Even better, each day the first time you turn in a daily quest (Abyssal Geyser, delve, world boss) or the weekly quest for the Cloudrest trial, you’ll earn a Glorious Summerset Coffer in addition to your regular rewards."

So apparently grammar is not ZoS's strong suit...or is this an after the fact "explanation" to cover glitches?

I agree that it could have been worded much better. I've never done trials but have done many previous events, so I assumed the quest part only refered to Cloudrest (assuming you have to take the quest to get any rewards, or possibly to get into the trial - as I said I've never done them) and all the other activities would function the way they have in most previous zone events where you get the reward when looting the boss.

The Morrowind event, the only other one I remember requiring the quests to be completed, made it much clearer:
As you participate in the Morrowind Celebration Event, you’ll also earn Event Tickets for the following activities:

One Event Ticket for the first World Boss Daily Quest completed each day
One Event Ticket for the first Delve Daily Quest completed each day
You can earn a total of two Event Tickets per day per account, with a possible total of 24 by the event’s end.
    https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-gb/news/post/55683

It's not a big problem for most people since players seem to be figuring it out by trial and error or asking other players, but it's always a good idea to try to make announcements as clear as possible to avoid confusion.

    Logic:
    1. Why would they separate world boss daily quest, but give rewards just for delve or geyser without quest?
    2. Every DLC zone event it was like this - rewards for dailies

I mean, yes, wording was never ZOS's strength, but do we really have everything explained to us as if we had brain damage?

Cause before it was just often kill & loot a World Boss (or Delve Boss) and gain your tickets. So its absolutely normal that many expect the same behavior and then are surprised that its different. Its forseeable that this will create confusion if there isnt an exact wording when something changes that behaved different before.

    same with me

Did 2 delves and 1 Geyser. It doesn't say delve quest. It says first time you complete a delve. Not even sure where a delve quest comes from. Located the delves on the map and went - like usual. 3 normal boxes, no Glorious, no tickets (not that I mind the ticket part - think the green slimy mount looks horrible )

judging by the amount of posts from players whinging about no drops, reading seems to be a skill fading into obscurity.

Yes. German text is "Belohnung für das erste Gewölbe, den ersten Anführer der offenen Welt, Kluftgeysir oder die Wolkenruh-Quest" = "reward for the first delve, the first world boss, abyssal geysers, or the Cloudrest quest".

Some people here calling questions like the OP's (I've seen several threads about the same problem since yesterday) stupid might consider that the translations of the announcements aren't nessarily precise. And I'm not sure how many translations there are... 4? 5?
