Wolf Form, but not Werewolf ?

Saw something last night and I kinda want to be able to do it but can't find any info on it.

Was stood on the rocks overlooking the Wayshrine in Sentinal and a large wolf appeared at the Wayshrine, it was about the size of a wolf mount but had no saddle or rider, dark in colour and had a shimmery dark green haze about it.

At first I thought it was just a wolf mount and the rider was wearing that disguise that makes you nearly invisible (forgot where you get it, Aldmeri questline maybe) you can usually make out the characters outline though, but there was nothing there. Unless the game just hadn't rendered it.

It ran up the hill and went towards the crafting stations, I legged it after it but couldn't catch it and then it was gone

Have tried searching but as soon as you type "wolf" all you get is hit for Werewolf.

My Warden would rather like to run like this, has anybody else seen anything like this ?

You still would have seen the rider as a black silhouette if it was a rendering issue. Doesn't Sentinel have different phases for a quest line there? Perhaps they were in a different phase, their mount should have been too, but well ESO phasing isn't exactly perfect.

Nope, seen that one before.

It just looked as if someone had taken the form of a wolf mount.

Yeah, there's phasing, thought it was just down by the docks though, not near the wayshrine. No black silhouette though.

Was it maybe the new Greymoor wolf pet? He's pretty big, so could be mistaken as a saddle-less mount and would explain no rider.

It would be nice if toons that are werewolves can "turn" into wolves and just sprint, similar to have T4 vamps can turn invisible and get a boost to speed wile sprinting.

That would be nice. Not as fast as fully trained mounts, but similar to that as t4 vamps.

Tier 4 vamps don't get a speed boost. Sneaking just costs 50% less so we can sprint farther, not faster. You must have seen someone mix stage 4 vampire and the Ring of the Wild Hunt.

I was wondering about that new wolf pet, size wise is a maybe but the colour is different. I'm starting to think that something just didn't display correctly.
