Nightblade magicka, getting past 54k dps barrier, looking for help

Hello everyone,

recently I've switched from more supportive roles such as tanks and healers in order to assist guildies with pledges as an DD.
Since I'm new to the whole DD business, I'm really struggling to break 54k dps barrier on trial dummy and overall puzzled what else to change about it. And after seeing couple of youtube videos for nightblade magicka doing 87k dps with static rotation left me even more confused as to what am I doing wrong.

I'm playing Kajiit nightblade magicka and following alcast's guide as a starting point.
https://alcasthq.com/eso-magicka-nightblade-build-pve/

Light attacker addon reports that that my light attacks are between 0.7 to 0.8.
Currently using witch's mother brew for sustain. My zaan headpiece however is in medium, would that be a huge impact on light armor passives?

Attaching links of screenshots for combat metrics and overview of the build

Any feedback, tips and suggestions are greatly appreciated :) 'cause like I've said, still trying to get a hang of DD'ing,

Kind regards.

As a magic character it's usually optimal to run a 5/1/1 setup. Meaning 5 light armor pieces, 1 medium, 1 heavy. Sharpened is also a trait that hasn't really been used in pve for mag in a couple of years. It's usually better to run precise, or infused second. Soul harvest usually performs better than incap on mag, as well.

Aside from that, it's really hard to tell without seeing a parse video. 90% of the time, it just boils down to rotation fluidity. Nightblades, more than any other class, rely on hitting every single light attack possible. Break your rotation up into chunks of 4, to make it easier. Do 4 light attacks/skills. Then, on the 5th light attack, your next skill should immediately be the bow proc. Repeat. Again, if you are able to post a parse video, that would be way more helpful to figure out the issues.

I can do some gear suggestions:

Arcane on your jewels needs to change
sharped on your staff needs to change
better to have false gods as your staff to keep your Ms up. On a trial dummy you won't see as high as siroria but above 80k is doable with fg.

    Skills:
Swap channel for barbed trap less empty casts.
    Unstable blockade.
No inner light and add cripple and shade.

Suggestions not facts. I don't recommend specific traits for your jewelry and staff because of the changes in pts. But traditionally BT and precise.

    Hey,

thank you both of you. I've switched to precise on main hand. For jewelry it might take some time, also depending how PTS will turn out. For false god, I don't have staff atm. Switched into unstable blockade.

As for barbed trap, I can't picture that being useful in groups as I can precast channeled acceleration

I've switched backbar for shade and mythic orb, following Alcasts similar setup.
For ulti, I could try at one point soul harvest, just went with other one for sustain.

    Would these logs help any?

Trap is used in a lot of endgame groups, because a majority of boss fights will be in melee range, even for mag characters. Plus, it's free damage, and better on sustain because it uses your lower resource. Channeled acceleration takes up 2 global cooldowns, so you're missing a light attack because of it. Acceleration does have its time and place though.

Soul harvest would usually be better because it does magic damage, which is boosted by cp, instead of disease, and you get more ultis during trash pulls. That's useful if you're running master architect or something.

Logs might be useful to some people, but as a console player, it's usually easier for me to watch a parse, so that I can see exactly what's going on, and when. It helps to see how clean the actual rotation/barswaps, etc are.

@Zero1013 just one thing that wasn't mentioned before, you should slot siphoning skill on your backbar for 8% max magicka passive. I mostly use on my frontbar merciless resolve, impale, crippling grasp, dark shade(or degeneration), ele weapon, incap. On backbar unstable wall, twisting path, trap, orb, siphoning att., destro ulti(or second incap)

Break your rotation up into chunks of 4, to make it easier. Do 4 light attacks/skills. Then, on the 5th light attack, your next skill should immediately be the bow proc.

While 4LA/skills between bow procs is doable on dummy, in group enviroment I usually stick with 5LA/skills because of latency or LA travel time.
