Hey ya'll,
All of the negativity aside in regards to class balance, nerfs, opinions and criticisms, I've had some crazy awesome experiences with the community itself and felt the need to share.
Wow, okay so I just checked when I started playing, and although it hasn't been super long comparatively (not even half a year) I've still been enjoying the hell out of the game and have made way more friendships than I thought possible.
When I first started playing I ran into a guy who was way better than I was. I messaged him and asked for tips and he took the time to explain some things, help me out, and even crafted me my first sets of PvP armor. He then introduced me to this thing called "Cyrodiil" and things changed forever.
However, last night was just... something else. I've been playing my bowblade and been having a ridiculous amount of fun with jumping unsuspecting people. When I get caught, zerged, I get teabagged, sure, but this one guy last night, I kept trying to gank him and was failing pretty spectacularly. About the third time I tried to unsuccessfully gank him though, he sent me a message:
"Hey you're doing it wrong."
Hold up, what? I immediately replied back to him and asked him what he meant and what could I do better?
Again, being relatively new to the game I didn't know about animation cancelling and didn't really understand light and heavy weaving and this dude took what I think wound up being an hour to teach me how to HW, LW, animation cancelling for bar switching, etc.
I can't tell you how cool this was, especially because you can imagine what most of my messages look like as a NB.
And then I started thinking, I've really only had a couple of crappy interactions with people but they all seem to be relatively new-ish. Almost every interaction I've had with the PvP crowd has been positive, where someone was willing to answer my question, help me out, or give me advice.
So anyways, just a huge thank you to everyone here.
